Ganjar Pranowo 2024 Presidential Campaign
The electoral campaign for the 2024 Indonesian presidential election of Ganjar Pranowo, two-term governor of Central Java, was officially launched in April 2023 upon his party the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle's endorsement of his candidacy on 21 April 2023. On 18 October 2023, PDI-P endorsed Mahfud MD as candidate vice president. Background Ganjar Pranowo was elected the governor of Central Java, one of Indonesia's most populous provinces, in 2013. Puan Maharani Nakshatra Kusyala Devi (born 6 September 1973) is an Indonesian politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), who is serving as the current speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Indonesia's lower house since 2019. She is the first female and the third-youngest person (being aged 46, when she took the oath of office) to take the office permanently. She previously served as the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs between 2014 and 2019, also becoming the first female and the youngest among all past and present coordinating ministers, being only 41 when she took office. Mochamad Ridwan Kamil (born 4 October 1971) is an Indonesian architect and politician who is the 15th Governor of West Java, the most populous province of Indonesia. General Muhammad Andika Perkasa (born Fransiskus Xaverius Emanuel Andika Perkasa; 21 December 1964) is an Indonesian general who previously served as the 21st Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (). He was appointed by President of Indonesia Joko Widodo in November 2021, replacing the retiring Air Chief Marshal, ACM Hadi Tjahjanto.
