The Ganguly family in Bollywood is referred as the Hindu Bengali Brahmin family hailing from Madhya Pradesh. Shammi Kapoor
Shammi Kapoor (born Shamsher Raj Kapoor; (pronounced ƒÊŒmËi kÊŒpuËɾ 21 October 1931 – 14 August 2011) was an Indian actor who worked in Hindi cinema. He is the recipient of two Filmfare Awards, winning in the categories of Best Actor for ''Brahmachari'' (1967) and Best Supporting Actor for ''Vidhata'' (1982). Geeta Bali
Geeta Bali (born Harkirtan Kaur; 1930 ‒ 21 January 1965) was an Indian actress who appeared in Hindi language films. She was the wife of noted film actor Shammi Kapoor. Early life Geeta Bali was born as Harikirtan Kaur in Amritsar in the Punjab Province of British India in 1930. She had an elder sister Haridarshan Kaur, whose daughter is actress Yogeeta Bali. Career Geeta Baali started her film career as a child actress, at the age of 12, with the film ''The Cobbler''. She made her debut as a heroine in ''Badnaami'' (1946). Amit Kumar (singer)
Amit Kumar (born 3 July 1952) is an Indian playback singer, actor, music composer. Kumar launched his own music production company, named Kumar Brothers Music. He predominantly worked in Bollywood and regional film songs since the 1970s, including 150 Hindi and Bengali compositions by R. D. Burman. After Burman's death in 1994, citing a lack of quality music composition, Kumar withdrew from playback singing and concentrated on live orchestra shows. Upendrakishore Raychowdhury
Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury (12 May 1863 – 20 December 1915) was a Bengali writer and painter. One of his written book is ''Chotoder Shera Biggan Rochona Shongkolon''. He was the son-in-law of reformer Dwarkanath Ganguly. He was also an entrepreneur. He was the first person who introduced the colour printing in Bengal. He started the first colour children's magazine ''Sandesh'' in 1913.
