Gangqian Station
The Taipei Metro Gangqian station is located in the Neihu District in Taipei, Taiwan. It is a station on Wenhu line. Station overview This three-level, elevated station features two side platforms, two exits, and platform elevators located on the north and south sides of the concourse level. Public art for the station is situated on the wall above the escalators. The piece, titled "The Paradise of Neihu", is a large-scale mixed media artwork consisting of needlepoint created with the help of 83 artists and volunteers. Neihu District
Neihu District is a district of Taipei City, Taiwan. Neihu means "inner lake." The older name originates from the Ketagalan word ''Tayour'' (transliterated by the Dutch as ''Cattajo''), meaning woman's head ornament. Many mountainous roads and paths, which are ideal for hiking, connect Neihu with the neighboring Shilin District and Yangmingshan National Park. The Tri-Service General Hospital, which is a teaching hospital of the National Defense Medical Center, is also in Neihu. The Wuchih Mountain Military Cemetery borders Neihu. History During Japanese rule, Naiko Village () covered modern day Neihu in addition to Nangang. The village was under Shichisei District, Taihoku Prefecture. Side Platform
A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Xihu Metro Station
The Taipei Metro Xihu station is located in the Neihu District in Taipei, Taiwan. It is a station on Wenhu line and opened on 4 July 2009. Station overview This three-level, elevated station features an island platform, two exits, and a platform elevator located on the east side of the concourse level. Unlike other stations on Brown Line, the concourse of this station is located above the platform level. On the eastern and northern walls of the station is a public art display. Titled "Crossing-Transformation", the aluminum and pottery brick piece can be perceived differently if viewed from different angles. Notably, this is the only non-terminus elevated station on the Wenhu line that features trains opening its doors on the left rather than on the right. Taipei Zoo Station
The Taipei Metro Taipei Zoo Station is a terminus on Wenhu line, Maokong Gondola Line, and the planned Circular Line of the Taipei Metro. It is located in the Wenshan District, Taipei, Taiwan. Station overview This three-level, elevated station features two side platforms and two exits. It is located on Xinguang Rd., Sec. 2. In order to deal with patronage to the zoo, an underground parking lot was constructed. It connects to the Maokong Gondola and Taipei Zoo. It will be a transfer station and terminus with Circular Line in 2029, which is expected to bring a lot of convenience to districts in outer Taipei and New Taipei by saving a lot of commuting time. Currently, a trip from Taipei Zoo to Dapinglin requires 40 minutes and two transfers, while a trip from Taipei Zoo to Jingan requires 36 minutes and also two transfers. Needlepoint
Needlepoint is a type of canvas work, a form of embroidery in which yarn is stitched through a stiff open weave canvas. Traditionally needlepoint designs completely cover the canvas.
