Alan Gane (born 11 June 1950) is an English former amateur footballer and manager. He is notable for promoting Wycombe Wanderers from the non-League Isthmian League into the Conference National in 1986. Playing career Gane played football between 1964 and 1986. The Henry Gane House is a historic house at 121 Adena Road in Newton, Massachusetts. Built c. 1860s, the two-plus story wood-frame house is distinguished as one of Newton's finest Second Empire houses. Dragan "Gane" Todorovski (11 May 1929 – 22 May 2010) was a Macedonian poet, translator, essayist, literary critic, and historian, publicist. Nicolae Gane (February 1, 1838 – April 16, 1916) was a Moldavian, later Romanian prose writer, poet and politician. Born in Fălticeni, his family were '' boyars'' of small and medium importance; his parents were ''postelnic'' Matei Gane and his wife Ruxandra (''née'' Văsescu). He began his education at the primary school founded in his native town by Neofit Scriban, followed by Louis Jourdan's French boarding school in Iași. Gane intended to study fine arts in Paris, but encountering opposition from his family, opted instead for a government career. Thanks to his connections, he obtained a position in Iași as secretary and translator for Moldavia's director of prisons.
