Gan Peck Cheng
Gan Peck Cheng (, born 21 November 1966) is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Penggaram since May 2013. She served as Deputy Speaker of the Johor State Legislative Assembly from June 2018 to January 2022 and State Leader of the Opposition of Johor from October 2015 to the collapse of the Barisan Nasional (BN) state administration in May 2018. She is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) opposition coalition. Personal life She was born in Kampung Minyak Beku, Batu Pahat, Johor. Barisan Nasional
The National Front ( ms, Barisan Nasional; abbrev: BN) is a political coalition of Malaysia that was founded in 1973 as a coalition of centre-right and right-wing political parties. It is also the third largest political coalition with 30 seats in the Dewan Rakyat after coalition Pakatan Harapan with 82 seats and the coalition Perikatan Nasional with 73 seats. 2018 Johor State Election
The 14th Johor State election was held on 9 May 2018, concurrently with the 2018 Malaysian general election. The previous state election was held on 5 May 2013. The state assemblymen is elected to 5 years term each. The Johor State Legislative Assembly would automatically dissolve on 20 June 2018, the fifth anniversary of the first sitting, and elections must be held within sixty days (two months) of the dissolution (on or before 20 August 2018, with the date to be decided by the Election Commission), unless dissolved prior to that date by the Head of State (Sultan of Johor) on the advice of the Head of Government (Menteri Besar of Johor). Boo Cheng Hau
Dr. Boo Cheng Hau (; born 1 October 1964) is a Malaysian politician of Democratic Action Party (DAP). He has served as Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Skudai for two terms from March 2008 to May 2018. Background and personal life Dr. Boo is a family physician who holds three bachelor degrees in Chemistry from Iowa State University of Ames; the Medicine and Surgery from University of the West Indies of Jamaica and Law from University of London respectively. 2013 Malaysian General Election
General elections were held in Malaysia on Sunday, 5 May 2013 to elect the members of the 13th Parliament. Voting took place in all 222 parliamentary constituencies, each electing one MP to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. State elections also took place in 505 state constituencies in 12 of the 13 states (excluding Sarawak) on the same day. The elections were the first since Najib Razak became Prime Minister in 2009.
