Matteo Galvan
Matteo Galvan (born 24 August 1988) is an Italian sprinter who specializes in the 200 and 400 metres. His career highlight so far is the 2009 European Indoor Championships, where he placed sixth in the 400 metres and won a gold medal in the relay. He also won seven national championships at individual senior level from 2008 to 2016 in three different specialities of the sprinting (100, 200 and 400 metres). Biography Galvan was born in Vicenza. Luigi Galvani (, also ; ; la, Aloysius Galvanus; 9 September 1737 – 4 December 1798) was an Italian physician, physicist, biologist and philosopher, who studied animal electricity. In 1780, he discovered that the muscles of dead frogs' legs twitched when struck by an electrical spark. This was an early study of bioelectricity, following experiments by John Walsh and Hugh Williamson. Victoria Galvan (born 1986) is a singer and musician from Corpus Christi, Texas, US. She performs in the Tejano style as part of the ensemble Victoria y Sus Chikos (Victoria and Her Boys). She records on the Hacienda Records label. Galvan is one of the few female Tejano vocalists to play the accordion herself as well as being the lead vocalist. She prefers and plays a Gabbanelli accordion. Victoria y Sus Chikos performed at the Tejano Conjunto Festival in San Antonio, Texas, in May 2000. She was featured in the 2001 documentary film ''Accordion Dreams'', directed by Hector Galán, which explored the history of Tejano music. Rubén Galván (7 April 1952 – 14 March 2018) was an Argentine football who played as a midfielder for Club Atlético Independiente for most of his career. At international level, he was part of the Argentina squad that won the 1978 FIFA World Cup on home soil. Club career Galván is one of the most decorated players in the history of Argentine football with four Copa Libertadores, two Nacional Championships and a World Cup title to his name. Galván was part of the Independiente team that won four consecutive Copa Libertadores titles between 1972 and 1975. He was also part of the team that won back to back Nacional championships in 1977 and 1978. In 1980, he had a short spell with Estudiantes de La Plata but he retired later that year at age 27. Pedro Joaquín Galván (born 18 August 1985) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder. Career Galván started his career in 2003 with Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata. In 2005, he joined San Martín de San Juan. He spent 2007 in Ecuador playing for Olmedo before returning to San Martín. After San Martín were relegated from the Argentine Primera Galván joined Bnei Yehuda. Pedro A. Galván (1833? - December 12, 1892) was a Mexican general, 25th governor of the Mexican state of Colima (interim), and governor of the state of Jalisco. A main avenue in the residential area of the City of Colima bears his name. Military career Pedro Galván began his military career in 1854 under General Ogazón and was then promoted to brigade General on the Liberal side during the Reform and Intervention wars, in which he lost a leg in battle. He took part in the Plan of Noria in 1872, alongside Porfirio Díaz. Political career He was elected federal deputy for Jalisco in 1875 and was later elected as the 2nd Senator for that state in 1877.
