Galore (film)
''Galore'' is a 2013 Australian drama film directed by Rhys Graham and starring Ashleigh Cummings, Toby Wallace and Lily Sullivan. The film is a coming-of-age story set during one particularly hot summer in suburban Canberra. Plot Billie and Laura are best friends living on the outskirts of Canberra. During one scorching summer, the girls enter a love triangle with Laura's boyfriend Danny, who Billie is secretly sleeping with. Billie's mother has taken in an orphan Islander teen, Isaac, with a criminal record. Laura has aspirations to be a writer and keeps a journal. One evening, Billie, Laura, Danny and Isaac attended a house party where they consume alcohol and get drunk. Billie steals the keys to somebody's car and the four teens go for a joy ride. Ashleigh Cummings
Ashleigh Cummings is an Australian actress. She became known for her role as Robyn Mathers in ''Tomorrow, When the War Began''. The film, based on the book of the same name, earned Cummings a nomination for Best Young Actor at the 2010 Australian Film Institute Awards. Cummings is also known for her roles as Dorothy Williams in ABC1's ''Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries'', as Debbie Vickers in ''Puberty Blues'', and Vic McQueen in ''NOS4A2''. Early life Cummings was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where her Australian parents lived and worked. She moved to Australia with her family when she was 12 years old. Antipodean Film Festival
The Antipodean Film Festival (french: Rencontres internationales du cinéma des Antipodes), variously referred to as Festival des Antipodes, Antipodes International Film Festival, Antipodes Film Festival Saint Tropez, Saint Tropez Film Festival and other variations, is a film festival showcasing New Zealand and Australian films, held annually in St Tropez in France since 1999. 2003 Canberra Bushfires
The 2003 Canberra bushfires caused severe damage to the suburbs and outer areas of Canberra, the capital city of Australia, during 18–22 January 2003. Almost 70% of the Australian Capital Territory's (ACT) pastures, pine plantations, and nature parks were severely damaged, and most of the Mount Stromlo Observatory was destroyed. After burning for a week around the edges of the ACT, the fires entered the suburbs of Canberra on 18 January 2003. Lily Sullivan is an Australian actress, known for her role as Coral in the 2012 film '' Mental'' and in the lead role of Miranda in the 2018 TV series '' Picnic At Hanging Rock''. Early life and education Sullivan's father is an importer of medical equipment, and her mother a visual artist, who emigrated to Australia from the UK together before Lily's birth.
