Gallions Reach is a stretch of the River Thames between Woolwich and Thamesmead. Gallions Reach Shopping Park is a major out-of-town retail park in Beckton, east London, England. Located on Armada Way beside the River Thames, Gallions Reach is the largest retail park in London and the M25, containing 34 units in an area of 324,000 square feet. Gallions Reach DLR Station
Gallions Reach DLR station is a station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in the Royal Docks area of east London. It serves the University of East London (UEL) Docklands Campus as well as recent residential developments around Royal Albert Dock. The station is located on the DLR's Beckton branch, between Cyprus and Beckton stations. It is in Travelcard Zone 3. The crossover junction north of the station, which is normally used for trains from the west going to Beckton DLR depot, can also be used for trains from Beckton and Poplar to reverse. This is the easternmost station on the DLR, as Beckton is actually further west. Gallions was the name of two distinct railway stations that adjoined the River Thames by Gallions Reach in Beckton, east London. First station and branch opening Construction of a line from Custom House to Gallions was authorised by the parliamentary act that also approved the construction of the Royal Albert Dock, and the branch was opened by the London & St. Katharine Docks Company on 3 August 1880 as far as Central. Eastern Counties And Thames Junction Railway
The Eastern Counties and Thames Junction Railway in east London connected the Royal Docks with the Eastern Counties Railway (ECR). Authorised in 1844, it opened in 1846, and was absorbed by the ECR in 1847. The ECR amalgamated with other railways to form the Great Eastern Railway in 1862. History The EC&TJR was incorporated on 4 July 1844. It opened on 29 April 1846 from Stratford to Bow Creek to transport coal from a pier on the mouth of the River Lea.
