Galician National-Popular Bloc
The Galician National-Popular Bloc (BNPG or BN-PG, ''Bloque Nacional-Popular Galego'' in Galician language) was a Galician electoral candidacy. It had as the national sovereignty for Galiza as its main objective and as an alternative to autonomism. It was formed by the Galician People's Union (UPG) and Galician National-Popular Assembly (ANPG). History The candidacy was boosted by the UPG and was created as a group of voters to stand in the general election of 1977, since both the UPG and the AN-PG were not legal. In these elections the BN-PG obtained 22,771 votes, 2.02% of the votes in Galiza. BN-PG organized numerous protests over a variety of issues (self-determination, ecologist causes, normalization of the Galician language, international solidarity, amnesty, ...). The (English: Association for the Ecological Defense of Galicia) is a Galician ecological group founded in 1974 and registered in 1976. ADEGA has always been linked with the Galician nationalist movement. The organization has chapters in the comarcas of A Mariña, Santiago, Coruña, Costa da Morte, Lugo, O Carballiño, Ourense, A Paradanta, Barbanza, Ordes, A Ulloa, Pontevedra, Trasancos, and Vigo. Intersindical Nacional Galega
The Intersindical Nacional Galega (''Galician National Inter-Union'' in English language) was a nationalist and anticapitalist galician union formed in March 1977 as a result of the merge of the Galician Workers Union, UTEG, UTSG, UTBG, STGAP and the SGTM. Francisco García Montes was elected Secretary General. The ING celebrated its first Congress in October 1977. In the first union elections of 1978 the ING became the third most voted union in Galiza, with 722 elected delegates (13.5%). In September 1980 the ING merged with the Central de Traballadores Galegos, achieving then the ''most representative union'' status, exceeding the 15% required and gaining 1,679 delegates (17.5%). Europa Press
The Europa Press was a publishing house founded and run by the Irish surrealist poet George Reavey. The press was based in Paris from its inception in 1932 until 1935, when Reavey moved to London. It ceased operation in 1939. The Europa Press is important in the history of 20th century Irish poetry because it published early work by Reavey, Brian Coffey, Denis Devlin and Samuel Beckett and in a wider context of literary and surrealist history because it published the first ever collection of English-language versions of work by Paul Éluard. This was published to coincide with the opening of the International Surrealist Exhibition in 1936 and featured a drawing by Pablo Picasso and a preface by Herbert Read, and the translators included Reavey, Beckett, Devlin, David Gascoyne, Man Ray and Ruthven Todd. The 1977 Spanish general election was held on Wednesday, 15 June 1977, to elect the Spanish Cortes of the Kingdom of Spain. All 350 seats in the Congress of Deputies were up for election, as well as all 207 seats in the Senate. It was the first free election held in Spain since 1936, prior to the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. It was called by Prime Minister Adolfo Suárez as part of the political reform of the Francoist regime, ongoing since shortly after Francisco Franco's death in 1975 and promoted by his successor, King Juan Carlos I. Autonomism, also known as autonomist Marxism is an anti-capitalist left-wing political and social movement and theory. Sovereignty is the defining authority within individual consciousness, social construct, or territory. Sovereignty entails hierarchy within the state, as well as external autonomy for states.
