Galera Railway Station
Galera is the third highest railway station in the Western Hemisphere with an elevation of 4,781 m (15,681 ft). Overview It is situated in the Andes in Peru at km 172.7 on the Ferrocarril Central Andino (FCCA) line from Lima to Huancayo, immediately east of the 1.2 km (6860 ft) Galera summit tunnel (4,783 m (15,694 ft) above sea level). The standard gauge line through the station was opened in 1893. In the years 1992-2003 it was out of use as was the whole line through this point because of the terrorist threat by the group Sendero Luminoso. There are now regular monthly train services on the line, including through Galera. Galera is a municipality in the comarca of Huéscar, province of Granada, autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain, roughly from the provincial capital, Granada. Demographics The population of the municipality is distributed among the districts in the following manner (2008): History Two significant archeological excavations have taken place in the vicinity of Galera. One has uncovered the Bronze Age Argaric culture, at "El Castellón Alto" or "Castellón de Arriba", where archeologists have excavated many tombs in several artificial terraces on a hill of vertical walls. The other excavation involves the Iberian Necropolis of Tútugi (in the Cerro del Real) which has several types of tombs. The most numerous of those types consists of a rectangular chamber, covered by a circular tumulus and reached through a long passage. Puerto Galera, officially the Municipality of Puerto Galera ( tgl, Bayan ng Puerto Galera), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 41,961 people. It is mainly accessible from the Southern Luzon gateway port of Batangas by bamboo boats (''bangka'') operated by local regular operators. Federico Galera DÃez (born 11 February 1978) is a Spanish ski mountaineer and mountain runner. Galera was born in Madrid. He started ski mountaineering in 1996 and competed first in the same year. His twin brother Carlos is also a ski mountaineer. ''Epipogium'', commonly known as ghost orchids or as 虎舌兰属 (hu she lan shu), is a genus of four species of terrestrial leafless orchids in the family Orchidaceae. Orchids in this genus have a fleshy, underground rhizome and a fleshy, hollow flowering stem with small, pale coloured, drooping, short-lived flowers with narrow sepals and petals. They are native to a region extending from tropical Africa to Europe, temperate and tropical Asia, Australia and some Pacific Islands. Description Orchids in the genus ''Epipogium'' are leafless, terrestrial, mycotrophic herbs. They have a fleshy underground rhizome and the flowering stem is the only part above ground level. The flowering stem is pale-coloured, hollow, fleshy and bears a few to many drooping flowers and papery bracts. Multi-master replication is a method of database replication which allows data to be stored by a group of computers, and updated by any member of the group. All members are responsive to client data queries. The multi-master replication system is responsible for propagating the data modifications made by each member to the rest of the group and resolving any conflicts that might arise between concurrent changes made by different members. Multi-master replication can be contrasted with primary-replica replication, in which a single member of the group is designated as the "master" for a given piece of data and is the only node allowed to modify that data item.
