Diamante Music Group
Diamante Music Group was a Newport Beach, California-based independent record label distributor active from 1993 through 2004. Diamante was home to several dozen small independent record labels, some of whose artists later gained worldwide recognition. Among such were Rescue Records whose releases for San Diego-based artists P.O.D.'s ''Snuff the Punk'' and ''Brown'' and Tonéx's '' Pronounced Toe-Nay'', who later signed contracts with Atlantic Records and Jive Records respectively, elevating the desire for the Rescue Records releases. Another notable Diamante-distributed label is Tooth & Nail Records whose artists Thousand Foot Krutch and MxPx first rose to prominence as independents. The Choir is an atmospheric Christian alternative rock band currently comprising Derri Daugherty on guitar and vocals, Steve Hindalong on drums, and Dan Michaels on saxophone and lyricon. Long-time bassist Tim Chandler died in 2018, and guitarist Marc Byrd was the fifth member of the band between 2005–2014. As of 2022, the band has released 16 full-length studio albums, three EPs, five live albums, one single-disc compilation, one retrospective box set, and is still actively recording new material. Adam Again
Adam Again is an American Rock music, rock band that was active from 1982 until the 2000 death of founder, leader and vocalist Gene Eugene, with Riki Michele on vocals, Paul Valadez on bass, Jon Knox on drums, Greg Lawless on guitar. Dan Michaels often played saxophone. Thom Jurek of AllMusic has described them as "inventive and artfully canny." The band never achieved commercial viability and quit touring and recording together after March 20, 2000, when Eugene died in his recording studio, the "fabulous" The Green Room (recording studio), Green Room. Common Children
Common Children was an alternative rock band composed of Marc Byrd, Drew Powell, and Hampton Taliaferro. The band recorded three studio albums between 1996 and 2001. The first two, ''Skywire'' and ''Delicate Fade'', were released on the now-defunct Tattoo record label, which signed the band after Dan Michaels and Gene Eugene heard them perform at the 1995 Cornerstone Festival. On December 28, 1996, the band recorded their only live album, ''Setlist'', in Jacksonville, Florida. The album had a very limited pressing and consisted of the entire Skywire album (excluding Broken Smile) and two tracks from Delicate Fade. The CD was sold only at concerts and as it contained no over-dubs, showcased the band's talent. Daniel Amos (aka D. A., Dä) is an American Christian rock band formed in 1974 by Terry Scott Taylor on guitars and vocals, Marty Dieckmeyer on bass guitar, Steve Baxter (musician), Steve Baxter on guitars and Jerry Chamberlain on lead guitars. The band currently consists of Taylor, guitarist Greg Flesch and drummer Ed McTaggart. Over the band's career, they have included keyboardist Mark Cook, drummer Alex MacDougall, bassist Tim Chandler and keyboardist Rob Watson (musician), Rob Watson with sounds that experimented with country rock, rock music, rock, New wave music, new wave and alternative rock. Dead Artist Syndrome was a Christian gothic rock band formed in 1989 in Orange County, California. The group consisted of singer-songwriter Brian Healy and a rotating cast of side men. Healy was dubbed the "father of Christian goth" by Rozz Williams, and was an ordained minister. The name of D.A.S. according to Healy is "Dead Artist Syndrome means greater in death than in life, be it James Dean, Van Gogh or Jesus Christ". His debut album '' Prints of Darkness'' was a notable, groundbreaking release. The band had been sporadically active due to health issues, releasing two albums in the 2000s, and another in 2015. Riki Michele (born Michele Bunch, currently Michele Palmer) is a female Christian alternative rock artist. Best known as one of the vocalists for Adam Again, she has also recorded four eclectic solo albums. A reviewer for Knight Ridder describer her as a "funky diva... a diva in the "female artist who knows what the heck she's doing" sense." She was married to Gene Eugene, and though they divorced in 1994 she continued to record with him until his death in 2000. The 77s (alternatively spelled the Seventy Sevens, the 77's, or simply 77's) is an American rock music, rock band consisting of Michael Roe on vocals/guitar, Mark Harmon (musician), Mark Harmon on bass guitar, and Bruce Spencer on drums. History The group was “formed at a church by a church” under the name Scratch Band in Sacramento, California, during the late 1970s according to Mike Roe. Accompanying him were Mark Tootle on guitar and keyboards, Jan Eric Volz on bass guitar, and Mark Proctor on drums. They were occasionally joined by singer Sharon McCall and guitarist Jimmy A.
