Galala Mountain
Galala Mountain or Galalah Mountain ( ar, جبل الجلالة, translit=Jabal al-Jalāla) is a mountain located in Suez Governorate, Egypt, with an elevation of 3,300 ft above sea level. It contains many species of plants and once had sources of water that have since dried up. Galala Mountain was called the Gallayat Plateaus until it was renamed in the 1920s. Galala Mountain is famous for Galala marble, which is quarried for export and has a colour that varies from creamy to creamy white. A study was conducted in 1989 to explore the feasibility of using water from the Red Sea for Galala, with promising results. A large construction project in Galala, supported by Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and investors alike, was underway as of 2018 to build a city to support tourism in the area. Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil el-Sisi; (born 19 November 1954) is an Egyptian politician and retired military officer who has served as the sixth and current president of Egypt since 2014. Al Galala City (Arabic : مدينة الجلالة) is a planned city in northeast Egypt. It lies on Northern Galala Plateau on the western side of the Gulf of Suez. The city represents one of several ambitious urban development projects of the government. With the help of which the problem of the congestion of the existing cities is to be solved. The city will include luxury and medium and middle income housing, touristic resorts, hotels, a water park and a Phosphate fertilizers factory. The Monastery of Saint Anthony is a Coptic Orthodox monastery standing in an oasis in the Eastern Desert of Egypt, in the southern part of the Suez Governorate.
