Gajanan Maharaj
Gajanan Maharaj was an Indian Hindu guru, saint and mystic. His origins remain uncertain. He first appeared at Shegaon, a village in Buldhana district, Maharashtra as a young man at age of 30 probably during 23 February 1878. He attained ''Sanjeevana Samadhi'' on September 8, 1910; which is thought to be a process of voluntary withdrawal from one's physical body. This date of his ''Samadhi'' is commemorated every year as part of the ''Shree Punyatithi Utsav''. The date of his first appearance is considered an auspicious day and is celebrated as ''Prakat Din Sohla''. Background and biographical versions The early life details of Gajanan Maharaj remain obscure and his date of birth also is unknown. He is believed to have made his first appearance during February 1878 at Shegaon. Gajanan Jagirdar
Gajanan Jagirdar (2 April 1907 – 13 August 1988) was a veteran Indian film director, screenwriter and actor. He worked in Hindi Cinema, also called Bollywood, as well as Marathi cinema. The period of 1942 to 1947, saw his rise as a film director with Prabhat Films. He was appointed as the first director (then principal) of thFilm and Television Institute of India (FTII)in 1960 which was known as ''Film Institute of India'' then. Jagirdar served as the director of the FTII for just over a year, from 1961 to 1962. He was associated with the Prabhat Film Company three decades before his FTII role, when the campus was the base of the Prabhat. He became a well-known pedagogue applying the acting theories of Stanislavsky to the prevailing local conditions. Gajanan Kirtikar is Leader of Shivsena and a Member of Parliament (MP) from Mumbai North West (Lok Sabha constituency) in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Gajānan Digambar Mādguḷkar (1 October 1919 – 14 December 1977) was a Marāthi poet, lyricist, writer and actor from India. He is popularly known in his home state of Mahārāshtra by just his initials as Ga Di Mā (गदिमा). He was awarded Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1951 and Padma Shri in 1969. He has written 157 screen plays and over 2000 songs in his career. He was called Ādhunik Valmiki (the modern Valmiki) of current era due to his composition of Geet Rāmāyan (lit. Gajanan Tryambak Madkholkar (Marathi: गजानन त्र्यंबक माडखोलकर) (December 28, 1900 – November 27, 1976) was a Marathi novelist and a literary critic from Maharashtra, India. Early life Madkholkar was born on December 28, 1900, in Mumbai. His father, a Karhade Brahmin priest who was financially well-off, brought up Madkholkar in a strict, highly orthodox Hindu environment. At his age 18, Madkholkar failed in the high school matriculation examination, and abandoned his formal studies. However, he extensively read Marathi, Sanskrit, and English literature.
