Gage Daye
Gage Daye (born June 11, 1989) is an American basketball player and coach. Following his college career with Bloomfield, he went on to play professionally in the United States, England and Australia. College career Daye played college basketball at Bloomfield College. As a senior in the 2010 season he averaged 24.1 ppg. and led the Deacons to their first ever Elite Eight appearance. He finished his career at Bloomfield as the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,518 points. During his senior season he was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year. Professional career After going undrafted in the NBA Draft, Daye signed with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League. He appeared in 4 games for the Mad Ants during the 2011–12 NBA Development League season, averaging 7.8 points and 2.5 assists. He was waived by the Mad Ants on December 20, 2011. Guard (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Over time, as more specialized roles developed, each of the guards and forwards came to be differentiated, and today each of the five positions are known by unique names, each of which has also been assigned a number: point guard (PG) or 1, the shooting guard (SG) or 2, the small forward (SF) or 3, the power forward (PF) or 4, and the center (C) or 5. NBA Development League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm team, farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. At the conclusion of the 2013–14 NBA season, 33% of NBA players had spent time in the NBA D-League, up from 23% in 2011.
