Gagauz People In Ukraine
The Gagauz are an ethnic Turkic minority in Ukraine. The total number of the Gagauz diaspora was 31,923 counted in the 2001 census, most of whom (86.51%) live in the Bessarabian region of Odesa Oblast: Izmail, Reni, Kiliya, and Bolhrad raions (districts). Place of residence The Gagauz are speaking Gagauz language who live in Ukraine, mainly in the Odesa region, where they make up 1.1% of the region's population. The number of Gagauz in the period between the 1989 and 2001 censuses increased by 0.9%, and the share of residents of the region - by 0.1%. Gagauz People
The Gagauz ( gag, Gagauzlar) are a Turkic people living mostly in southern Moldova ( Gagauzia, Taraclia District, Basarabeasca District) and southwestern Ukraine (Budjak). Gagauz are mostly Eastern Orthodox Christians. The term Gagauz is also often used as a collective naming of Turkic people living in the Balkans, speaking Gagauz language, a language separated from Balkan Gagauz Turkish. Etymology ''Gagauz'' is the most widely accepted singular and plural form of the name, and some references use ''Gagauzy'' (from Ukrainian) or ''Gagauzi''. Other variations including ''Gagauzes'' and ''Gagauzians'' appear rarely. Mykolaiv Oblast
Mykolaiv Oblast ( uk, Микола́ївська о́бласть, translit=Mykoláyivsʹka óblastʹ, ), also referred to as Mykolaivshchyna ( uk, Микола́ївщина, Mykoláivshchyna, ) is an oblast (province) of Ukraine. Ovidiopol
Ovidiopol ( uk, Ові́діополь; russian: Овидиополь; tr, Hacıdere) is a coastal urban-type settlement in Odesa Oblast, Ukraine. Ivanivka, Odesa Oblast
Ivanivka ( uk, Іванівка) is an urban-type settlement in Berezivka Raion, in the west of Odesa Oblast, Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Ivanivka settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: Ivanivka is located on the right bank of the Velykyi Kuialnyk. Kiliia
Kiliia or Kilia ( uk, Кілія́, translit=Kiliia, ; ro, Chilia Nouă) is a town in Izmail Raion, Odesa Oblast of southwestern Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Kiliia urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Tarutyne ( uk, Тарутине; bg, Тарутино, ; ro, Tarutino, Ancecrac; ) is an urban-type settlement in southwestern Ukraine. It is the seat of Bolhrad Raion (raion, district) of Odesa Oblast and is in the historical region of Budjak in southern Bessarabia.
