Gabriela Morawska-Stanecka
Gabriela Anna Morawska-Stanecka (born 17 March 1968) is a Polish lawyer, manager and politician. Biography She graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University. Morawska-Stanecka worked as a civil law notary and later as a barrister. In 1994–2006, she participated in heavy industry restructuring processes in Poland. She was also on the supervisory committee of an energy corporation. Morawska-Stanecka was the Democratic Left Alliance candidate for the Polish Senate in Silesia ( Tychy and Mysłowice as well as Bieruń-Lędziny County) in 2019. She defeated Czesław Ryszka, of the Law and Justice party, with Morawska-Stanecka receiving 50.93% of the vote. Deputy Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland ( pl, Wicemarszałek Senatu RP) is one of the Polish Senate, Polish Senators in the upper house of the Polish parliament who serves as the deputy of the Senate Marshal (speaker). Democratic Left Alliance
The Democratic Left Alliance () was a social-democratic political party in Poland. It was formed in 9 July 1991 as an electoral alliance of centre-left parties, and became a single party on 15 April 1999. It was the major coalition party in Poland between 1993 and 1997, and between 2001 and 2005, from which came four Prime ministers: Józef Oleksy, Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz, Leszek Miller and Marek Belka. It then faded into opposition, shadowed by the rise of Civic Platform and Law and Justice. Law and Justice ( pl, Prawo i Sprawiedliwość , PiS) is a right-wing populist and national-conservative political party in Poland. Its chairman is Jarosław Kaczyński. It was founded in 2001 by Jarosław and Lech Kaczyński as a direct successor of the Centre Agreement after it split from the Solidarity Electoral Action (AWS). It managed to win the 2005 parliamentary and presidential elections, after which Lech became the president of Poland. __NOTOC__ Bieruń-Lędziny County ( pl, powiat bieruńsko-lędziński) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is Bieruń, which lies south-east of the regional capital Katowice. The county also contains the towns of Lędziny, lying south-east of Bieruń, and Imielin, east of Bieruń. The Senate ( pl, Senat) is the upper house of the Polish parliament, the lower house being the Sejm. The history of the Polish Senate stretches back over 500 years; it was one of the first constituent bodies of a bicameral parliament in Europe and existed without hiatus until the final partition of the Polish state in 1795.
