Gabriel Geay
Gabriel Gerald Geay (born 10 September 1996) is a Tanzanian professional long-distance runner. He finished second at the 2023 Boston Marathon. Geay is the Tanzanian national record holder for the marathon. Career Geay has won 7 notable road races including the Peachtree Road Race in 2016 and the Bolder Boulder 10K in 2017. In 2017, he competed in the senior men's race at the 2017 IAAF World Cross Country Championships held in Kampala, Uganda, finishing 22nd. As of July 2018, he earned over US$33,000 in prize money. In 2019, he competed in the senior men's race at the World Cross Country Championships held in Aarhus, Denmark and finished in 88th place. In 2021, he placed sixth in a new Tanzanian national record of 2:04:55 at the Milano City Marathon in Italy. This performance qualified him for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. 2022 Boston Marathon
The 2022 Boston Marathon was a marathon race held in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 18, 2022. The Bolder Boulder (styled as BOLDERBoulder and previously BolderBOULDER) is an annual 10-kilometer run in Boulder, Colorado. The most recent race featured over 54,000 runners, walkers, and wheelchair racers, making it the second largest 10k race in the US and the fifth largest road race in the world. It has one of the largest non-marathon prize purses in road racing. The 2015 African Junior Athletics Championships was the twelfth edition of the biennial, continental athletics tournament for African athletes aged 19 years or younger. It was held at the Addis Ababa Stadium in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 5–8 March. It was the first time that Ethiopia hosted the event and followed on from the 2008 African Championships in Athletics, which was hosted at the same venue. Alphonce Felix Simbu (born 14 February 1992) is a Tanzanian long distance runner who specialises in the marathon. He competed in the marathon event at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China. He finished 12th with a time of 2:16:58. He competed for Tanzania at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's marathon. He finished 5th with a time of 2:11.15. He was the flag bearer for Tanzania during the closing ceremony. Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics were held during the last ten days of the Games. They were due to be held from 31 July – 9 August 2020, at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the games were postponed to 2021, with the track and field events set for 30 July – 8 August. The sport of athletics at these Games was split into three distinct sets of events: track and field events, remaining in Tokyo, and road running events and racewalking events, moved to Sapporo. 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships
The 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships were hosted in the city of Aarhus in Denmark. It was the 43rd edition of the championships and was held on 30 March 2019. A part of the course was run on the grounds and grass roof of the Moesgaard Museum. The race was held in challenging conditions, due to the very muddy course and steep hills. The senior men's race was won by Ugandan Joshua Cheptegei, while the senior women's race was won by Kenyan Hellen Obiri.
