Gabriel Costa (footballer)
Basilio Gabriel Costa Heredia (born 2 April 1990) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Peruvian Liga 1 club Universitario de Deportes. Born in Uruguay, Costa represents Peru internationally. Club career Costa played in the youth ranks of River Plate de Montevideo. In 2011, he was loaned to Rocha FC in order to get more minutes, scoring 2 goals in 19 matches. International career Born in Uruguay, Costa was nationalized after years in Peru and gained a Peruvian passport. He debuted for the Peru national team in a friendly 1–0 loss to Ecuador on 6 September 2019. The 2021 Copa Chile (officially known as Copa Chile Easy 2021 due to its sponsorship), was the 41st edition of the Copa Chile, the country's national football cup tournament. The Copa Chile (''Chile Cup'') is an annual cup competition for Chilean football teams. Due to time constraints and club pressure, the trophy was cancelled in 2000, but returned in 2008. Its precursor was the Campeonato de Apertura (''Opening Championship''), played from 1933 to 1950. The Torneo del Inca was a football competition in Peru played by the football clubs of the Primera División. It was founded in 2011 under the name Torneo Intermedio and was played as a domestic football cup competition between clubs of the first and second division in addition to amateur clubs from smaller leagues that compete in the Copa Perú. It was on hiatus until 2014 when it was reorganized under the name Torneo del Inca and played only between first division teams; its format was modified to feature a group stage and a final.
