''Gabbia'' is a 2003 independent short-film directed by Italian filmmaker Francesco Roder, who also wrote the script. It stars Mexican actress Claudia Soberón. Plot An empty room. Small. Dark. Dirty. A young woman is pushed in and the door is locked. It's the beginning of the worst nightmare as her entire freedom is slowly taken away from her. Forever. Cast *Claudia Soberón Enclosed Production ''Gabbia'' began production in early 2002, with a story that evolved from a 1-minute video commercial screenplay to a 13-minutes short-film script. The video was shot in late 2002 in Sacile, a small town in north Italy. Mexican actress Claudia Soberón was cast as the lead after the first collaboration with the director Francesco Roder on the short film 'L'Ultimo Grido'. Her astonishing performance earned her the 'Best Actress' Award at the Italian 'Notte di Corti' in 2005. Claudia Soberón (; born September 29, 1977) is a Mexican actress and singer. Biography Born and raised in Mexico City, Soberón began singing in child musical groups and in 1988 won a national singing competition televised by Televisa and sponsored by Marinela. After taking acting classes during her high school years, she eventually enrolled the "El Foro de Teatro Contemporaneo" drama academy in Mexico City. Franco Giraldi (11 July 1931 – 2 December 2020) was an Italian director and screenwriter. Life and career Born in Komen, Giraldi spent his childhood and adolescence between the Carso, Trieste and Gorizia. During the Second World War, still in minor age, he helped the Italian partisans.
