''G Hall Thu'' ( my, ဂျီဟောသူ) is a 2020 Burmese comedy-drama television series. It is a story of Rangoon Institute of Technology (RIT) (now Yangon Technological University (YTU) ) in 1980s. It aired on MRTV-4, from 19 June to 29 July 2020, on Mondays to Fridays at 19:00 for 29 episodes. Synopsis It is based on the popular novel , written by Ma Sandar. G hall, one of the halls of Rangoon Institute of Technology (RIT) in 1980s. The hall number is referred to as the G by G. The students who live in the halls are called "G Hall Thu". This series is a really compelling series of comedy about the story of the lifestyle, conversation style and happenrence who have been living together for six years at university and G Hall. It is a series that is shown in the background of the university and it is a series that reminds you of a university student life. Ma Sandar ( my, မစန္ဒာ; born 4 September 1947) is a well known Burmese writer. With a clear and engaging style, her works reflect the daily struggles of the people living in Myanmar. Her novella, ''Life's Dream, Flower's Dream'' won the 1994 Myanmar National Literature Award for novella. Her short stories collection, ''Short Stories Collection 3'' won the 1999 Myanmar National Literature Award for Collected Short Stories. Another novella, ''Hexagon'' won the 2002 National Literature Award for novella. 10 of her novels have been made into movies. He is best known for his roles in television series '' A Yake'' (2018), '' The Seven Banknotes'' (2019), '' Tatiya Myaut Sone Mat'' (2019), '' Late Pyar Hnaung Kyo (2019) and '' G Hall Thu'' (2020). MRTV-4 (Myanmar Radio and Television- 4) is a Burmese television channel jointly operated by MRTV and the Forever Group. Launched in May 2004, the channel broadcasts between 7am and 11pm. Since that time, it is only available to viewers with satellite or terrestrial DVB-T decoders. Now, they broadcast 24 hours and also available in OTT platform, PyonePlay. The channel is run under the Ministry of Information, and international news broadcasts undergo censorship. History In May 2004, MRTV-4 was broadcast a two hours a day program schedule with the cooperation of Myanmar Radio and Television under the Ministry of Information. The Democratic Voice of Burma ( my, ဒီမိုကရေတစ်မြန်မာ့အသံ, abbreviated DVB) is one of Myanmar's largest independent media organisations. DVB was founded as a non-profit media organization based in Oslo, Norway and Chiang Mai, Thailand. Run by Burmese expatriates, it made radio and television broadcasts aimed at providing uncensored news and information about Burma. Since 2012 DVB gradually moved back into Burma, where it became one of the country's largest and most well-respected TV broadcasters.
