G Files Awards
Gfiles award is an annual award presented to Civil Servants at the national level in India for extraordinary achievements in governance. This award is constituted by GFiles magazine, a national magazine on bureaucracy and governance. Winners are selected by the a jury comprising former senior bureaucrats and without the intervention of the government. First award ceremony took place in 2012. The award ceremony takes place every year in Delhi. Recent award ceremony took place on 12 December at Civil Services Officers Institute(CSOI) where 13 Civil Servants were awarded. Civil Servant
The civil service is a collective term for a sector of government composed mainly of career civil servants hired on professional merit rather than appointed or elected, whose institutional tenure typically survives transitions of political leadership. Narendra Singh Tomar (born 12 June 1957) is an Indian politician and a member of the 17th Lok Sabha. He is the incumbent Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. Raghunath Anant Mashelkar
Raghunath Anant Mashelkar FRS FREng FRSC, also known as Ramesh Mashelkar, (born 1 January 1943) is an Indian Chemical Engineer, born in a village Mashel in Goa and brought up in Maharashtra. Anil Kakodkar
Anil Kakodkar (born 11 November 1943) is an Indian nuclear physicist and mechanical engineer. He was the chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India and the Secretary to the Government of India, he was the Director of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay from 1996 to 2000. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian honour, on 26 January 2009. Apart from playing a major role in India's nuclear tests asserting sovereignty, Kakodkar champions India's self-reliance on thorium as a fuel for nuclear energy. Ved Marwah
Ved Prakash Marwah (15 September 1934 – 5 June 2020) was an Indian police officer, who after retirement, served as governor of Manipur, Mizoram and Jharkhand. He died at Goa at the age of 87 after a three-week hospitalisation. Early life He was born and raised in Peshawar, North-West Frontier Province, British India. Nitin Jairam Gadkari (; born 27 May 1957) is an Indian politician from Maharashtra who is the current Minister for Road Transport & Highways in the Government of India. Ram Bilas Sharma
Ram Vilas Sharma (10 October 1912 – 30 May 2000) was a progressive literary critic, linguist, poet and thinker. He was born in Unchgaon Sani, Unnao District, Uttar Pradesh. In a career spanning nearly five decades, Sharma authored over 50 books. Shekhar Dutt was the governor of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.
