''GMA Regional TV Early Edition'' is a Philippine television news broadcasting show broadcast by GMA Bacolod and GMA Iloilo. Originally hosted by Atty. Sedfrey Cabaluna, Kaitlene Rivilla and Adrian Prietos, it premiered on August 31, 2020. Adrian Prietos, and Kaitlene Rivilla currently serve as hosts. Overview The program is the second unified morning show in Western Visayas, more than five years after its predecessor '' Arangkada (Ang Trip Mo Kung Aga)'' went off the air following the strategic streamlining of programs and manpower on GMA's provincial stations. Television in the Philippines was introduced in October 1953 upon the first commercial broadcast made by Alto Broadcasting System (now ABS-CBN), making the Philippines the first Southeast Asian country and the second in Asia to do so. Arangkada (TV Program)
''Arangkada (Ang Trip Mo Kung Aga)'' () is a Philippine television newscast and talkshow broadcast by GMA Iloilo for the Western Visayas region. Originally anchored by Mark Nunieza and Charlene Belvis, it premiered on October 8, 2007. The newscast concluded on April 24, 2015. Jovanni Gustilo, Carol Velagio and Kate Chavez served as the final hosts. Overview The show pre-empted the 2nd hour of Unang Hirit in the 6:15 am to 7:15 am block (Philippine Standard Time). This show is now also simulcast over GMA Roxas (Channel 5), GMA Kalibo (Channel 2) and GMA Sipalay (Channel 10). On April 24, 2015, Arangkada was formally cancelled after more than 7 years without saying goodbyes to the viewing public, due to the streamlining of GMA regional network's operations that caused a massive lay-off of 24 employees of GMA Iloilo alone, including Arangkada hosts and staff. It is owned by Asian-Pacific Broadcasting Company under the operations of GMA Network Inc. DYGM-TV, Channel 13 (analog) and Channel 44 (digital), is a local commercial television station owned and operated by GMA Network Inc. Its studios, the analog and digital transmitter are situated at the 3/F iSecure Bldg. Rizal Cor. Locsin St., Bacolod City. Standard-definition television (SDTV, SD, often shortened to standard definition) is a television system which uses a resolution that is not considered to be either high or enhanced definition. "Standard" refers to it being the prevailing specification for broadcast (and later, cable) television in the mid- to late-20th century, and compatible with legacy analog broadcast systems. The two common SDTV signal types are 576i, with 576 interlaced lines of resolution, derived from the European-developed PAL and SECAM systems, and 480i based on the American NTSC system. Common SDTV refresh rates are 25, 29.97 and 30 frames per second. Both systems use a 4:3 aspect ratio. Standards that support digital SDTV broadcast include DVB, ATSC, and ISDB.
