GE Home & Business Solutions was a division of General Electric from 2007 to 2014. In 2013 it was renamed GE Appliances & Lighting. History On 1 August 2007 GE announced the formation of GE Enterprise Solutions, consisting of the various GE Industrial businesses other than GE Consumer & Industrial, as well as GE Power Quality. Charlene T. Begley was named president and CEO of the division. GE Appliances is an American home appliance manufacturer based in Louisville, Kentucky. It has been majority owned by Chinese multinational home appliances company Haier since 2016. GE Lighting is a division of Savant Systems Inc. headquartered in Nela Park, East Cleveland, Ohio, United States. The company traces its origins to Thomas Edison's work on lighting in the 19th century. Savant Systems Inc. is a home automation company headquartered in Hyannis, Massachusetts, United States. The company was founded in 2005 and is privately held. It has 200 employees at its headquarters and a further 700 through its subsidiary GE Lighting. Savant Systems is the parent company of GE Lighting, which it bought from General Electric in May 2020.
