Gex (video Game)
''Gex'' is a platform game developed by Crystal Dynamics. It was originally released for the 3DO in 1995; ports of the game for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn were later developed by Beam Software, and a PC version was licensed by Microsoft and released for Microsoft Windows. It was a pack-in game for Panasonic models of the 3DO later in the console's life. It is the first in the ''Gex'' series of video games, and introduces players to the title character, a wisecracking, television-obsessed gecko voiced by comedian Dana Gould, who must venture through the "Media Dimension" and defeat Rez, the overlord of the dimension who wants to make Gex into his new network mascot. ''Gex'' was created by Lyle Hall in 1993 shortly after he had joined Crystal Dynamics, and initially followed a movie stuntman named Gecko X before being retooled at the advisory of lead programmer Gregg Tavares. GEX is a German stock market index based owner-dominated companies, which have been listed on the German stock exchange less than ten years. Owner domination entails that members of the executive and supervisory boards or their families hold between 25 and 75 percent of the voting rights in the company. Many small and medium-sized companies are led by their owners and the Index focuses on this segment. On average, companies on the Index have been listed for approximately five years. Thus, the GEX index serves as an indicator for the price development of small and medium-sized companies on the exchange. Geelong Airport
Geelong Airport was a small airfield specifically for light aircraft located in Mount Duneed, Victoria, Australia. It was primarily used for scenic flights and private aircraft, and was located in the local government area of the City of Greater Geelong. The airport contained two gravel/tarmac runways: north/south and east/west. Though commercial airlines had attempted to fly services to Geelong in the past, they chose to use the more developed airport at Avalon, located to the north side of Melbourne. Operations from Avalon also proved to be unsuccessful. Other airports in the area are at Barwon Heads , the Torquay Airport and the ''Tiger Moth World'' at 325 Blackgate Rd. The site is also used to record wind and weather measurements for the area. Geelong airport was sold to property developers to allow for the expansion of the urban sprawl of Geelong. ''Gex'' is a platform video game video game series, developed by Crystal Dynamics, that details the adventures of an anthropomorphic gecko named Gex. He has served as the mascot of Crystal Dynamics, appearing on their company logo for several years until 2000. In the North American version, Gex is voiced by comedian Dana Gould; the United Kingdom version features Gould, Leslie Phillips and Danny John-Jules as Gex's voice. It was created when Sigismund, Holy Roman Emperor, raised the County of Savoy into a duchy for Amadeus VIII. The duchy was an Imperial fief, subject of the Holy Roman Empire, until 1792, with a vote in the Imperial Diet. From the 16th century, Savoy belonged to the Upper Rhenish Circle. Émilie Gex-Fabry (born 21 May 1986) is a Swiss ski mountaineer. Gex-Fabry was born in Vevey. She started ski mountaineering in 1991, and competed first in the 2000 Trophée des Gastlosen event. She has been member of the Swiss team since 2003, and lives in Val-d'Illiez. After several good results in younger age classes, she placed 10th in the "seniors" single race of the 2007 European Championship. She won the Patrouille des Glaciers in 2010 with a time of 7h41, the course record for female teams as of 2018. After 5 years study at the university of Fribourg, she works as biologist/botanist. Gex (; frp, Gèx; it, Gesio) is a commune in the Ain department in eastern France and a subprefecture of the department. It lies from the Swiss border and from Geneva. It is a subprefecture of Ain. History The town gave its name to the ''Pays de Gex'', at various times under the jurisdiction of France, Switzerland and the Duchy of Savoy. The future site of Gex was inhabited around 1800 BC. Around 220 BC, a group of Gallic warriors known as the Gaesatae reside in the area around Gex. Afterwards, the town was part of Roman Gaul. In 1252, Léonette of Geneva, Lady of Gex, descendant of the count of Geneva, Amadeus I, married Simon of Joinville, son of Simon of Joinville and Beatrix of Auxonne, Lady of Marnay. The city of Gex was included in her dowry. Later that century, the Joinvilles set up a castellan and a judge in the town.
