GCRTA
The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (officially the GCRTA, but historically and locally referred to as the RTA) is the public transit agency for Cleveland, Ohio, United States and the surrounding suburbs of Cuyahoga County. RTA is the largest transit agency in Ohio, providing over 44 million trips to residents and visitors of the Cleveland area in 2010. RTA owns and operates the RTA Rapid Transit rail system (called "The Rapid" by area residents), which consists of one heavy rail line (the Red Line) and three light rail lines (Blue, Green, Waterfront). RTA Rapid Transit (generally known as The Rapid) is a rapid transit, light rail, and bus rapid transit system. The system is owned and operated by the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA). The system serves Cleveland and surrounding areas in Cuyahoga County. The system currently consists of seven total service lines: one rapid transit rail line; three light rail lines; and three bus rapid transit (BRT) lines. Considered part of the rapid transit system, the bus lines are included on the official rapid transit map. North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line
The North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line (NOMBL) was a public public transport, transit agency in Northeast Ohio. The NOMBL was one of the first and one of the oldest municipal transit systems in the United States and was in continuous operation for over 74 years. It served the cities of North Olmsted, Ohio, North Olmsted; Fairview Park, Ohio, Fairview Park; Olmsted Falls, Ohio, Olmsted Falls; Westlake, Ohio, Westlake; Rocky River, Ohio, Rocky River; Olmsted Township, Ohio, Olmsted Township; and parts of the west side of and downtown Cleveland, Ohio, Cleveland. Airport Station (GCRTA)
Airport is a station on the RTA Red Line in Cleveland, Ohio. It is the western terminus of the Red Line and is located off the lower level below the middle of the baggage claim level of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. History The station opened on November 15, 1968 when the CTS Rapid Transit was extended four miles from West Park station, making Cleveland the first city in the Western Hemisphere to offer direct rapid transit service to its major airport. Euclid is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. It is an inner ring suburb of Cleveland. As of the 2020 census, the city had a total population of 49,692. Louis Stokes Station at Windermere is a rapid transit station on the RTA Red Line in East Cleveland, Ohio. It is located on the northwest side of Euclid Avenue ( U.S. Routes 6 and 20) between Bryn Mawr and Doan Roads. It is the eastern terminus of the Red Line and the bus rapid transit HealthLine. History Prior to being a rapid transit station, the site was the location of the Windermere Car Barn of the Cleveland Railway and its successor, the Cleveland Transit System (CTS). As streetcars were retired in favor of buses, Windermere also became a bus garage. On February 4, 1952, CTS broke ground for its rapid transit behind the Windermere Car Barn, on the same embankment as the Nickel Plate railway tracks. Waterfront Line
The Waterfront Line is a light rail line of the RTA Rapid Transit system in Cleveland, Ohio, running from Tower City Center downtown, then north and northeast to station, adjacent to the Cleveland Municipal Parking Lot. The Waterfront Line is the newest rail line in Cleveland, having opened in 1996. The 2.2 mile (3.5 km) line is unique in that it is an extension of the Blue and Green lines, but has its own naming designation. History The line opened on July 10, 1996, coinciding with Cleveland's bicentennial celebration which took place later in the year.
