Gamini M. Premachandra (24 August 1940 – 24 October 1994) was the Cabinet Minister of Labour and Vocational Training of United National Party The United National Party, often abbreviated as UNP ( si, එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂය, translit=Eksath Jāthika Pakshaya, ta, ஐக்கிய தேசியக் கட்சி, translit=Aikkiya Tēciyak Kaṭci), ... government from 1990 to 1994. He was re-elected from the Parliamentary election of 1994. He was assassinated by a female suicide bomber of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) while attending an election rally in support of Gamini Dissanayake, for the 1994 Sri Lankan presidential election, Presidential election of 1994. Suicide Bombing was a popular tactic of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam of attacking enemies to maximize enemy casualties and minimize attacker's casualties.
