G. K. Warren Prize
The G. K. Warren Prize is awarded by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences "for noteworthy and distinguished accomplishment in fluviatile geology and closely related aspects of the geological sciences." The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) is a United States nonprofit, non-governmental organization. Thomas Dunne (geologist)
Thomas Dunne (born April 21, 1943) is a British geomorphologist and hydrologist who is a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara's Bren School of Environmental Science & Management and Department of Earth Science since 1995. From 1973 to 1995 he was a professor at the University of Washington's Department of Geological Sciences where his research focused on landslides. His degrees are in physical geography, obtaining a B.A. from Cambridge University in 1964, and a Ph.D. in 1969 from The Johns Hopkins University. When the stream or rivers are associated with glaciers, ice sheets, or ice caps, the term glaciofluvial or fluvioglacial is used. Kay Behrensmeyer
Anna Katherine "Kay" Behrensmeyer is an American taphonomist and paleoecologist. She is a pioneer in the study of the fossil records of terrestrial ecosystems and engages in geological and paleontological field research into the ecological context of human evolution in East Africa. She is Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology in the Department of Paleobiology at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History (NMNH). At the museum, she is co-director of the Evolution of Terrestrial Ecosystems program and an associate of the Human Origins Program. Garry Parker (born 7 September 1965) is an English football coach and former professional player who is an assistant coach for Omonia. As a player, he was a midfielder from 1983 to 2001, notably in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Leicester City. He also played for Luton Town and Hull City. He was cap (sport), capped by England at England under-21 national football team, under-21 and England B national football team, B international level. Claudio Vita-Finzi, (born 21 November 1936) is an Australian-British geologist and academic. He was Professor of Neotectonics at University College London from 1987 to 2001, and has been a scientific associate at the Natural History Museum, London since 2001. His research is interdisciplinary, and involves the application of tectonics and planetary science on landscape change: this has led to him working alongside archaeologists and climatologists among others.
