G. G. Anderson
Gerd Günther Grabowski (born 4 December 1949), better known by his stage name G. G. Anderson, is a German Schlager singer, composer, and music producer. Life and career Gerd Grabowski was born on 4 December 1949 in Eschwege, Hesse, Germany. After completing his apprenticeship, he became an electrician, while composing, arranging, and singing. His musical career began at age 15 in 1964 as a member of "The Rackets", a band emulating The Beatles, in 1968 he sang with the Blue Moons at the Burg Herzberg Festival, and from 1970 to 1972 in the band "Love and Tears" ( Michael Holm's backing group). In 1973 he became a solo artist under the name "Alexander Marco", from 1977 to 1979 as "Tony Bell" and since 1980 has performed under the name "G. G. Anderson". His success as a singer began in 1981. Eschwege (), the district seat of the Werra-Meißner-Kreis, is a town in northeastern Hesse, Germany. In 1971, the town hosted the eleventh ''Hessentag'' state festival. Geography Location The town lies on a broad plain tract of the river Werra at the foot of the Leuchtberg (mountain) northwest of the Schlierbachswald (range) and east of the Hoher Meißner. The valley basin where the town is located includes a series of small lakes along the northern side of the river. The ''ZDF-Hitparade'', or ''Hitparade'' for short, by German TV channel ZDF, was one of the most popular and most well-known music television series presenting mostly German Schlager. The Goldene Stimmgabel (English: Golden tuning fork, Tuning Fork) was an annual prize awarded within the Germany, German music scene from 1981 to 2007. The prizes were awarded according to the number of records sold from October of the previous year to June of the year of the award, as determined by Media Control GfK International, Media Control. It was established in 1981 by Dieter Thomas Heck, who hosted the television gala award show every year since then. It was broadcast on either ARD (broadcaster), ARD or ZDF until the year 2000. From 2001 to 2007 the award show was broadcast by ZDF alone. In 2008, ZDF decided not to present the award and did not announce whether they would be resumed later, discontinued, or replaced with another award. Arnold George Dorsey (born 2 May 1936), known professionally as Engelbert Humperdinck, is an English pop singer who has been described as "one of the finest middle-of-the-road balladeers around". He achieved international prominence in 1967 with his recording of " Release Me". Starting as a performer under the name of Gerry Dorsey in the late 1950s, he later adopted the name of the German composer Engelbert Humperdinck as a stage name and found success after he partnered with manager Gordon Mills in 1965.
