G.I. Joe (film Series)
''G.I. Joe'' is a series of American military science fiction action films based on the toy line of the same name. Development for the first film began in 2003, but when the United States launched the invasion of Iraq in March 2003, Hasbro suggested adapting the ''Transformers'' instead. In 2009, the first film was released, '' G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra''. A second film, '' G.I. Joe: Retaliation'', was released in 2013. A third film, centered on Snake Eyes titled '' Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins'', also serving as a reboot of the series, was released in 2021, and a fourth film, ''G.I. Lorenzo di Bonaventura (; born January 13, 1957) is an American film producer and founder and owner of Di Bonaventura Pictures. He is best known for producing the G.I. Joe and ''Transformers'' film series. The films he produced have earned over $7 billion at the box office. ''300'' is a 2006 American epic historical action film based on the 1998 comic series of the same name by Frank Miller and Lynn Varley. Both are fictionalized retellings of the Battle of Thermopylae in the Greco-Persian Wars. Evangelos Spiliotopoulos ( el, Ευάγγελος Σπηλιωτόπουλος; born c. 1973) is a Greek-American screenwriter, film producer, and film director. Early life Spiliotopoulos was born in Greece, and graduated from high school there.
