The Algerian Basketball Federation ( ar, الاتحاديه الجزائريه لكرة السلة, FABB) is the governing body of basketball in Algeria. Formed in 1963, it is based in the capital town Algiers. The FABB is a member of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and also belong to the FIBA Africa zone. The current president of the federation is Rabah Bouarifi. Algiers
Algiers ( ; ar, الجزائر, al-Jazāʾir; ber, Dzayer, script=Latn; french: Alger, ) is the capital and largest city of Algeria. The International Basketball Federation (FIBA ; French: ) is an association of national organizations which governs the sport of basketball worldwide. Originally known as the (hence FIBA), in 1989 it dropped the word ''amateur'' from its name but retained the acronym. FIBA defines the rules of basketball, specifies the equipment and facilities required, organises international competitions, regulates the transfer of athletes across countries, and controls the appointment of international referees. A total of 213 national federations are now members, organized since 1989 into five zones: Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. The Algeria national basketball team are the men's basketball side that represent Algeria in international competition, administered by the Fédération Algérienne de Basket-Ball. The squad finished in the final four every time it hosted a major international basketball tournament including the African Basketball Championship and the All-Africa Games.
