Futurama (season 2)
The second season of ''Futurama'' began airing on November 21, 1999 and concluded after 19 episodes on December 3, 2000. Halfway through the season on February 6, 2000, Fox moved the show from its original timeslot of 8:30pm (following ''The Simpsons'') to 7pm. At this time, the show lost half of its viewers. The original 72-episode run of ''Futurama'' was ''produced'' as four seasons; Fox ''broadcast'' the episodes out of the intended order, resulting in five aired seasons. This list features the episodes in original ''production order'', as featured on the DVD box sets. The full nineteen episodes of the season have been released on a box set called ''Futurama: Volume Two'', on DVD and VHS. It was first released in the United Kingdom on November 11, 2002, with releases in other regions in 2003. The Fox Broadcasting Company, commonly known simply as Fox and stylized in all caps as FOX, is an American commercial broadcast television network owned by Fox Corporation and headquartered in New York City, with master control operations and additional offices at the Fox Network Center in Los Angeles and the Fox Media Center in Tempe. Lew Morton
Lewis "Lew" Morton is an American television writer. He has written for several shows, including ''Saturday Night Live'' (from 1993-1995), ''NewsRadio'', ''Family Guy'' and ''Futurama''. He worked as a producer for ''Undeclared'', but never authored any episodes. He also executive produced the film '' Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story''. During his time on ''Futurama'' Lewis wrote twelve episodes, making him and writer Ken Keeler the two writers who wrote the most episodes on that show as well as the most known. Lewis also went to the same primary school as David X. Cohen. Morton also attended Harvard University, where he worked on ''The Harvard Lampoon''. The Lesser Of Two Evils
"The Lesser of Two Evils" is the sixth episode in the second season of '' Futurama''. It originally aired on the Fox Network in the United States on February 20, 2000. Plot While visiting the Past-o-rama theme park, Fry runs over a robot with an uncanny resemblance to Bender. They bring him back to the Planet Express building, where Professor Farnsworth repairs him. The robot's name is Flexo, and like Bender, he is a bending unit. The only physical difference between the two is that Flexo has a goatee. Bender and Flexo hit it off, but Flexo soon begins to grate on the nerves of Fry, who suspects him of being evil, despite his behavior being similar to Bender's. The Professor reveals an atom of the fictional element Jumbonium, which the crew is to deliver to the Miss Universe pageant, to be held on Tova 9. Doctor Zoidberg
Dr. John A. Zoidberg, often referred to only by his last name, is a fictional character from the animated series '' Futurama''. He is a Decapodian, a crustacean-like species of alien, who works as the staff doctor for ''Planet Express'', despite his woeful understanding of human physiology and allusions to his questionable credentials. His character parodies the supposed wealth and automatic respect of modern doctors—for example, his incompetence at human medicine makes him extremely poor despite his profession, and he is implied to be frequently homeless when not at work. The Decapod (named after the actual Decapoda order of ten-footed crustaceans) are an extended parody on Jewish culture —the bigger joke being that shellfish are not kosher. The writing riffs on the marine theme in a playfully absurd way, with just about any marine Arthropoda or Mollusca being implied to be akin to Zoidberg. Eric Kaplan
Eric Kaplan is an American television writer and producer. His work has included shows such as ''Late Show with David Letterman'', ''Andy Richter Controls the Universe'', ''Malcolm in the Middle'', ''Futurama'', ''The Simpsons'' and ''Rick and Morty''. He also worked on ''The Big Bang Theory'' throughout its run. Brian Sheesley (born April 14, 1967) is an American animation director who has worked on several comedy shows, including directing duties on ''The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy'', two episodes of ''The Critic'', nine episodes of '' Futurama'' and two episodes of ''King of the Hill''. "Why Must I Be a Crustacean in Love?" is the fifth episode in the second season of the American animated television series '' Futurama'', and the 18th episode of the series overall. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on February 6, 2000. The episode is a parody of the ''Star Trek: The Original Series'' episode "Amok Time" and, in part, Cyrano de Bergerac. Plot Amy and Leela drag Fry and Bender to the gym, and Dr. Zoidberg tags along. While at the gym, Zoidberg behaves erratically and aggressively, and even develops a head fin. Back at the laboratory, Professor Farnsworth examines a restrained Zoidberg, and determines that it is mating season for Zoidberg's species. The crew flies to Zoidberg's home planet, Decapod 10, and, after a short tour, Zoidberg sets up a mound on the beach and begins trying to attract a mate. David X
David X ( ka, დავით X) (1482–1526) was a king of the Georgian kingdom of Kartli from 1505 to 1525. Life David was the eldest son of Constantine II, whom he succeeded as king of Kartli in 1505. Although Constantine had recognised the independence of the breakaway Georgian kingdoms of Imereti and Kakheti, the rivalry among these polities continued under David. He had to defend his kingdom against the attacks by Alexander II of Imereti in the west, and George II of Kakheti in the east. Peter Avanzino (born May 26, 1962) is an American animation director. He has directed several episodes of ''Futurama'', and served as supervising director on the 6th and 7th seasons of the series. Avanzino works for Rough Draft Studios in Glendale, California. He has also directed episodes of ''Drawn Together'', ''Duckman'', ''The Wild Thornberrys'', '' Sit Down, Shut Up'', and ''The Ren & Stimpy Show''. Xmas Story
"Xmas Story" is the fourth episode in the second season of ''Futurama''. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on December 19, 1999. The episode was written by David X. Cohen and directed by Peter Avanzino. John Goodman guest stars in this episode as Robot Santa. The plot of the episode focuses on the first Xmas that Fry spends in the future. Plot While on a ski trip, Fry begins to feel nostalgic for 20th century Christmases.
