Fumio Watanabe
(October 31, 1929 – August 4, 2004) was a Japanese actor most known for his work with Japanese New Wave director Nagisa Oshima. He was born in Tokyo and graduated from the University of Tokyo before joining the Shōchiku studio in 1956. Japanese New Wave
The is a group of loosely-connected Japanese filmmakers during the late 1950s and into the 1970s. Although they did not make up a coherent movement, these artists shared a rejection of traditions and conventions of classical Japanese cinema in favor of more challenging works, both thematically and formally. Coming to the fore in a time of national social change and unrest, the films made in this wave dealt with taboo subject matter, including sexual violence, radicalism, youth culture and delinquency, Korean discrimination, queerness, and the aftermath of World War II. They also adopted more unorthodox and experimental approaches to composition, editing and narrative. Bloodstained Clan Honor
is a 1970 Japanese yakuza film directed by Kinji Fukasaku. Plot In the year 1965, with the post-WWII era now in the past, police crack down on the criminal organizations which had thrived during that turbulent era and numerous gangs are disbanded. Amid these conditions, 30-year-old Kensaku Gunji becomes the 4th head of the Hamayasu family operating in a small corner of the Port of Yokohama as a replacement for the acting head Tetsuji Kuroki, who is in prison. The Hamayasu member Onuma is arrested under the Port Labor Act and shipping work comes to a standstill. Onuma's wife asks for help but it is Onuma's third arrest and it will be difficult. Daitsuiseki
was a Japanese comedy-action police TV series. It starred regulars Yūzō Kayama, Masaya Oki, Tatsuya Fuji, Naomi Hase, and Kyohei Shibata, with Fumio Watanabe as a semi-regular. It ran for twenty-six episodes in 1978 and won popularity. It is noted for the ad-libbing and jokes by the cast and staff, which became more frequent as the show wore on. Kyohei Shibata appeared as regular cast for the first time in TV drama series. The final episode was directed by Toru Murakawa who was simultaneously directing the film ''Satsujin Yūgi'' featuring Yūsaku Matsuda and Yutaka Nakajima, and thus pulled them in for cameo roles. was a Japanese ''daimyō'' of the Sengoku period, who was famed as the head of the Takeda clan and the successor to the legendary warlord Takeda Shingen. He was son in law of Hojo Ujiyasu. It is based on Sakyo Komatsu's novel ''Shuto shōshitsu'' which won the 6th Nihon SF Taisho Award in 1985.
