Fukui Prefectural Fujishima High School (福井県立藤島高等学校, ''Fukui Kenritsu Fujishima Kōtō Gakkō'') is a high school in Fukui, Japan, founded in 1855. The school is operated by the Fukui Prefectural Board of Education. In 2004 the school was chosen as SSH. Its best known graduate is probably Yoichiro Nambu, winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physics. Machi Tawara
is a contemporary Japanese writer, translator and poet. Tawara is most famous as a contemporary poet. She is credited with revitalizing the tanka for modern Japanese audiences. Her skill as a translator consist of translating classical Japanese into modern Japanese, for example books such as the '' Man'yōshū'' and the ''Taketori Monogatari''. Biography She was born in 1962 in Osaka Prefecture, and moved to Fukui Prefecture when she was 14 years old. In 1981, she graduated from Waseda University with a degree in Japanese literature. Under the influence of the poet Sasaki Yukitsuna, she began to write tanka. After graduation, Tawara began teaching at Kanagawa Prefecture's Hashimoto High School, and she taught there until 1989. Yuichi Nakagaichi
is a former volleyball player from Japan, who played for the Japan men's national volleyball team in the 1990s. Playing at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain he ended up in 16th place at the 1998 World Championship. On 26 October, 2017, Nakagaichi became the head coach of the Japan men's national volleyball team and he retired in September 2021, after led the team finished as runners-up in 2021 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship. was an admiral in the Imperial Japanese Navy, politician and Prime Minister of Japan from 1934 to 1936.
