Frøydis Armand
Frøydis Armand (9 April 1949 – 11 October 2022) was a Norwegian actress. She was the daughter of actor Eilif Armand, and sister of Merete Armand and Gisken Armand, both actresses. She worked at Nationaltheatret (the National Theatre) from 1972 onward, acting in plays such as Henrik Ibsen's ''Little Eyolf'', and Shakespeares '' Othello''. Though primarily a stage actress, Armand was probably best known to the general audience as one of the three protagonists in Anja Breien's ''Hustruer''–trilogy: ''Hustruer'' (1975), ''Hustruer – ti år etter'' (1985) and ''Hustruer III'' (1996). Armand had a child from a marriage to actor Helge Jordal, and another child from a relationship with actor Kai Remlow. She died on 10 October 2022, at the age of 73. Eilif Armand
Eilif Armand (18 March 1921 – 28 November 1993) was a Norwegian actor. He was born in Bergen to businessman Sverre Andreassen and Maggi Sørensen, and was the father of actresses Frøydis Armand, Gisken Armand and Merete Armand. He made his stage debut at Den Nationale Scene in 1946, as "Jesus" in Nordahl Grieg's play ''Barabbas''. He was assigned with Den Nationale Scene from 1948 to 1956, with Rogaland Teater from 1956 to 1958, with Nationaltheatret from 1958 to 1975, and again with Den Nationale Scene from 1975. His film appearances included ''Marikens bryllup'' (1972) and '' Kjærleikens ferjereiser'' (1979). ''Nedtur'' (literally 'Downturn', released in English as ''If Music Be the Food of Love'') is a Norway, Norwegian feature film from 1980 directed by Hans Lindgren. Helge Jordal (born 17 February 1946) is a Norwegian actor. He was appointed a Knight of the Royal Order of St. Olav in 2006 for his long career as an actor both on screen and on stage, and for his position as a "grand old man" among Norwegian actors. Career Jordal was born in Bergen. He is one of the most prominent Norwegian actors with a significant career. Since he graduated from the Teaterhøyskolen in 1972, he distinguished himself in several roles on the film screen, television, stage and cabaret theaters across the country. He was employed at the Nationaltheateret in Oslo (1972–77), Hålogaland Teater in Tromsø, before he came to the Den Nationale Scene (DNS) in Bergen (1981). He became a freelance actor in 1987, but has played significant roles in the DNS stage.
