Fruitcake EP
''Fruitcake EP'' is an Extended play, EP released by Philippines, Filipino alternative rock band Eraserheads released by BMG Records (Pilipinas), Inc. in 1996 as a promotional material for the launching of their album Fruitcake (Eraserheads album), Fruitcake in December 1996. The album contains three tracks that includes the band's well-known Christmas song "Fruitcake", "Old Fashioned Christmas Carol" and an unplugged version of the song "Christmas Alphabet". Background The idea of having an EP being released first was opened after BMG Records ( Pilipinas ) reckoned Dec. 6 as the date of the release of the studio album because it's already too late to push a yuletide set. Recording The song "Fruitcake" was recorded in two versions having a different ending. Thus, the "standard" version can be heard on the EP while the "album" version can be heard on the album. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. ''Cutterpillow'' (stylized as ''CUTTƎRPILLOW'') is the third studio album by Filipino alternative rock group Eraserheads. It was released in the Philippines on December 8, 1995 by BMG Records (Pilipinas), Inc. The album became a highlight in Pinoy music as it introduced classic songs such as "Huwag Mo Nang Itanong", "Overdrive", and the popular " Ang Huling El Bimbo". It was both critically and commercially successful, certifying 11× Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI). ''Fruitcake'' (stylized ''fRUiTCaKe'') is the fourth studio album of the Filipino band Eraserheads, released in December 6, 1996, by BMG Records (Pilipinas), Inc. It is also the official Christmas album and was accompanied by a separate storybook, also called ''Fruitcake''. It can be categorized as a musical itself and to date, there has only been one theater musical adaptation of it - the Eraserheads' Fruitcake Musical 2010. Unlike the band's other albums which feature either English or Tagalog lyrics, ''Fruitcake'' is 100% English. Although released as a Christmas album, ''Fruitcake'' is a loose concept album, being heavily influenced by the Beatles' '' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'' (1967).
