Fron Male Voice Choir
The Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir ( cy, Côr Meibion Froncysyllte), also known as the Fron Choir ( cy, Côr Fron), is an amateur male voice choir based in the village of Froncysyllte (pronounced roughly ''vron-cuss-ulth/ tay''), Wrexham County Borough, Wales, near Llangollen in Denbighshire. The village is famous as the site of Thomas Telford's Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. The village's choir became notable when the Universal Music Group album ''Voices of the Valley'' was released in November 2006, reaching number 9 on the UK album chart. It became the fastest-selling classical record of all time, achieving gold status in three days and, by 2009, had sold over half a million copies. Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod
The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod is a music festival which takes place every year during the second week of July in Llangollen, North Wales. It is one of several large annual Eisteddfodau in Wales. Singers and dancers from around the world are invited to take part in over 20 competitions followed each evening by concerts on the main stage. Over five thousand singers, dancers and instrumentalists from around 50 countries perform to audiences of more than 50,000 over the 6 days of the event. Cantorion Colin Jones
Cantorion Colin Jones is a Welsh concert chorus founded by the late Colin Jones on 1 September 1991 in the Lecture Theatre of Plas Coch College (later Glyndŵr University). The Choir united many of the finest singers whom Colin had taught earlier as conductor and voice tutor. Several of the singers also conducted choirs across North Wales. The first public performance of Cantorion Colin Jones was in William Aston Hall, Wrexham, North Wales in February 1993. Coincidentally, this was alongside the Lecture Theatre where the chorus was established. Following this performance, invitations were received to tour international venues to bring their unique sound to many audiences.
