Frolic (brig)
The ''Frolic'' was a brig which sank northeast of Point Cabrillo, near Caspar, California. Historians have called it "the most significant shipwreck on the west coast". Its shipwreck site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Frolic (brig) in 1991. The ship was built in Baltimore. It was on return from trading in China with a load of porcelain and perhaps opium when it sank. The opium-trading brig ''Frolic'' wrecked on a reef north of Point Cabrillo, a few miles from what is now Mendocino in 1850; the investigation of the wreck by agents of Henry Meiggs led to the discovery of the coast redwood forests of the Mendocino area and the beginning of the timber trade that would drive the local economy for decades... Mendocino itself was founded in 1852 as a logging community for what became the Mendocino Lumber Company, and was originally named Meiggsville after Meiggs. A cannon salvaged by sport divers is now in Kelley House Museum in Mendocino. The Me ...

Arthur Piver
Arthur Piver (; "Piver rhymes with diver"; 1910–1968) was a World War II pilot, an amateur sailor, author, printshop owner and legendary boatbuilder who lived in Mill Valley on San Francisco Bay and became "the father of the modern multihull." Career In the late 1950s and 1960s Piver designed and built a series of simple three-hulled, plywood yachts starting with a 16 footer and culminating in a 64-footer that was built in England for charter in the Caribbean. (The word "trimaran" was coined by Viktor Tchetchet, a Ukrainian emigrant to the US who tested his boats on Long Island sound in the late 1940s.) Piver crossed the Atlantic on his first ocean-going boat, the demountable 30 foot ''Nimble'', departing from Swansee, Mass, stopping in the Azores, and successfully reaching Plymouth, England. He then began selling do-it-yourself plans through a company called '' Pi-Craft''. He thought anyone could build one of his boats even if they had no experience. In 1962, Piver built hims ...

Frolic (song)
"Frolic" is a song composed by Luciano Michelini, an Italian composer. It was composed in 1974 for the film, ''La bellissima estate'', where it was used to represent the character of the ''barone rosso''. "Frolic" is better known as the theme from the American sitcom ''Curb Your Enthusiasm''. It was chosen by the series' creator, Larry David, who had heard the music in a bank advertisement four years prior. Apart from that, "Frolic" has been used as backing music for several advertisements, and a rap song by Snoop Dogg. "Frolic" takes inspiration from circus music and the bossa nova. The piece features a combination of tuba, mandolin, banjo and piano, as well as several instruments used for effects. This combination of instruments has been frequently commented on due to its unusual nature. History ''La bellissima estate'' Luciano Michelini is an Italian composer, born in 1945. Curb Your Enthusiasm
''Curb Your Enthusiasm'' is an American television sitcom produced and broadcast by HBO since October 15, 2000, and created by Larry David, who stars as a semi-fictionalized version of himself. It follows David's life as a semi-retired television writer and producer in Los Angeles, and for one season, New York City. Also starring are Cheryl Hines as his wife Cheryl, Jeff Garlin as his manager and best friend Jeff Greene, Susie Essman as Jeff's wife Susie, and J.B. Smoove as his house mate Leon Black. It often features celebrity guest stars, many of them playing fictionalized versions of themselves, including Ted Danson, Richard Lewis, Wanda Sykes, Rosie O'Donnell, and Jon Hamm. As with ''Seinfeld'', which David co-created, the humor of ''Curb Your Enthusiasm'' often revolves around the minutiae of everyday social life. Each episode's plot and subplot is established in an outline written by David, and the dialogue is largely improvised by the actors, a technique known as retro ...

Frolic (law)
Frolic and detour in the law of torts occur when an employee (or agent) makes a physical departure from the service of his employer (or principal). A ''detour'' occurs when an employee or agent makes a minor departure from his employer's charge whereas a ''frolic'' is a major departure when the employee is acting on his own and for his own benefit, rather than a minor sidetrack in the course of obeying an order from the employer. The employer will be relieved of vicarious liability, which is usually assessed through the doctrine of ''respondeat superior'' for torts committed by the employee only if the employee has been deemed to engage in a frolic. Similarly, in the law of workers' compensation, an employer is not liable for injuries incurred by an employee during a frolic, but the employer can still face liability for the results of a detour. The term was coined in ''Joel v Morison''. Underlying rule of liability An employer is vicariously liable for the unintentional torts ...
