Frolic (album)
''Frolic'' is the second solo studio album by Norwegian singer Anneli Drecker, released on 4 April 2005, by Capitol Records. Background Drecker now releases the downtempo album ''Frolic'' with clear roots in the pure synth-pop. She is, however, not rooted there, but developed with today's more diverse soundscape within the genre electronica. Anneli Drecker
Anneli Marian Drecker (born 12 February 1969, in Tromsø, Norway) is a Norwegian singer and actress from the city of Tromsø. She is the frontwoman for the dream pop band Bel Canto. Life and career Drecker's father Peter, a German from Bielefeld, emigrated in 1960 to Norway. In the fall of 2006 Bel Canto celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the first album with several concerts. She has released three solo albums, and has provided vocals for various artists including Motorpsycho, Jan Bang, Savoy, a-ha, Röyksopp, Jah Wobble, Ketil Bjørnstad, Simon Raymonde, Mental Overdrive, Illumination and Hector Zazou. Drecker contributed as composer and singer in a production of Pär Lagerkvist's ''Bøddelen'' at Det Norske Teatret (2000), and has worked as a freelance actress and composer at Hålogaland Teater from 2009 to 2015. Blancmange () are an English synth-pop band formed in Harrow, London, in 1979. The band were a duo for much of their career, composed of Neil Arthur (vocals) and Stephen Luscombe (keyboards). They came to prominence in the early 1980s, releasing four UK top-20 singles: "Living on the Ceiling", "Waves", "Blind Vision" and " Don't Tell Me". They released three studio albums during that decade: ''Happy Families'' (1982), ''Mange Tout'' (1984) and '' Believe You Me'' (1985). The duo amicably broke up in 1986 but reformed in the late 2000s, and in 2011 released their fourth studio album, ''Blanc Burn''. Luscombe left following the release due to ill health, and since then Arthur alone has continued to perform under the Blancmange name, releasing nine new studio albums along with a re-recording of the band's debut studio album, titled '' Happy Families Too...'' William Hut
Poor Rich Ones (1989-2003) was a pop and rock band from Bergen, Norway, comprised by lead singer, songwriter and guitarist William Hut, keyboardist Bjørn Bunes, bassist Tor Sørensen, guitarists Eivind Kvamme, Espen Mellingen, and drummer Bjarte Ludvigsen ("blue"). Formed in 1994, the band released their debut album ''Naivety's Star'' in 1996 on the local label Rec 90. Q magazine described their style as "infinitely sad and nocturnal, yet uplifting rather than depressing", calling the band "Norway's own Radiohead". After four successful album releases, including a final "best of" album after a United States tour, the band effectively dissolved in 2003. Although they have not broken up officially, the band's homepage states they have "no future plans". Vocalist William Hut has pursued a solo career, often assisted by ex-band colleague Bjørn Bunes. Hans-Peter Lindstrøm
Hans-Peter Lindstrøm (born 16 February 1973) is a Norwegian music producer who works under the name Lindstrøm. He established the music label Feedelity in 2002. He often collaborates with fellow producer Prins Thomas (together constituting the musical group Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas). Lindstrøm won a Spellemannsprisen in 2008 for '' Where You Go I Go Too''. Gareth Jones (born 1954) is an English music producer and engineer notable for working with Depeche Mode, Einstürzende Neubauten, Wire and Erasure. Background Jones was born in Warrington, Lancashire. He is married and currently living in North London. When he was young he played different instruments but became more interested in music technology. He owned a simple valve tape recorder and began experimenting with tape editing. He later trained at the BBC and began working in recording studios, such as Pathway. At Pathway he recorded and mixed John Foxx's ''Metamatic'' album in 1980 and the first Madness single, "The Prince", in 1979. While working with a band in Vienna the band's manager suggested Jones mix the recordings in West Germany. He did the mixing at Hansa Tonstudio in West Berlin. Electropop
Electropop is a hybrid music genre combining elements of electronic and pop genres. Writer Hollin Jones has described it as a variant of synth-pop with heavy emphasis on its electronic sound.
