Froggy (ISP)
Froggy was an Australian business, that primarily operated an ISP amongst other things, established and owned by entrepreneur Karl Suleman. At the time of its collapse the company had around 30,000 customers. Froggy was originally two separate ISPs, A1 Superlink and another smaller one based in Melbourne. In early 2000, Suleman purchased these companies and created the brand name Froggy. Froggy became notable for its use of skywriting in the Australian capital cities. In addition, former ''Wheel of Fortune'' hostess Adriana Xenides endorsed the business. Froggy, mainly as a result of transferring debts from Karl Suleman Enterprises to Froggy, was in financial trouble from the start. Karl Suleman was the director of KSE (Karl Suleman Enterprises) and all the companies within the Froggy Group. He was part of the largest Ponzi scheme in Australian history which was associated with budget internet company Froggy, fronted by Suleman and funded with the help of $300 million raised from 20,000 investors. Early life Born in Iraq on 16 April 1961 to an Assyrian family, Suleman, was only two years old when his father Emanuel, an air force captain, died in a plane crash. His mother Najiba, widowed at the age of 19, brought him to Australia in 1976 to live with his uncle. After leaving school Suleman worked as a storeman and packer. Skywriting is the process of using one or more small aircraft, able to expel special smoke during flight, to fly in certain patterns that create writing readable from the ground. These messages can be advertisements, general messages of celebration or goodwill, personal messages such as a marriage proposals and birthday wishes, or acts of protest. Adriana Xenides
Adriana Xenides ( née Coutsaimanis; 9 January 1956 – 7 June 2010) was an Argentine-born Australian television presenter, former model, actress and children's author. Born in Buenos Aires, to a Greek father and a Spanish mother, she moved to Australia as a child, and became well known for her long-running, Guinness World Record-breaking role as the co-host and letter-turner on game show ''Wheel of Fortune''.
