Christian-Peter Friese
Christian-Peter Friese (August 5, 1948, Munich - December 25, 1970, East Berlin) was one of the victims at the Berlin Wall. Members of the Border Troops of the German Democratic Republic shot him while trying to escape from East Germany. Biography He was his mother's only child, and grew up with her in Naumburg (Saale), Naumburg. His father is unknown. After school, he trained as a car mechanic. In Naumburg he took a job at the Deutsche Reichsbahn (East Germany). Death On the evening of December 24, 1970, he left his home and his mother without saying goodbye or leaving a message. He went to East Berlin by train. Once there he went to the allotment Vogelsang II in Treptow which was right on the border. He watched the border and climbed around midnight on the interior fence. He triggered alarm by touching the subsequent signal fence. A total of five border guards opened fire on Christian-Peter Friese, who took cover in the vehicle barrier ditch. Donald Friese (born 1940) is an American billionaire businessman, and the chief executive (CEO) and former owner of C.R. Laurence, a glazing supplies company. Early life Donald Friese was born in 1940 in York, Pennsylvania, the third of 13 children. After his high school graduation, he joined the U.S. Army in 1958, trained as a missile mechanic, and was stationed in Taiwan and Okinawa. He served in the army for 3 years before moving to Los Angeles with $125 in his pocket to find a job. Career Friese started at C.R. Laurence in Los Angeles, which then had just one location, with an "entry-level job", as its sixth employee. A few years later, Bernie Harris, the owner, sold him a 10% stake, and he gradually acquired more, eventually buying Harris out when he retired. Peter Friese
Peter Friese (born 23 March 1952, Siemianowice Śląskie, Poland), is a German art historian and curator. Life and education Friese studied art history, archaeology and philosophy at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. His professional life began 1975 at Kunstmuseum Bochum, 1978 at Museum Folkwang and 1980–1984 at Kunsthalle Düsseldorf. He was a co-founder and curator of the "Kunstraum Wuppertal". Since 1988 he has continued his curatorial work at Kunstverein Ruhr in Essen. In 1992 Peter Friese became curator at Neues Museum Weserburg Bremen and since 2007 he served as chief curator und deputy director. In 2015 he became the museum's director. Since 1994 he lectures on art history and cultural sciences at Bremen University. Richard Friese (15 December 1854 – 29 June 1918) was a German animal and landscape painter. Biography He was born in Gumbinnen. He studied at the Academy in Berlin, where, after traveling in the orient, in Norway, and as far as the polar regions, he rapidly acquired his present reputation as one of the best animal painters in Germany, especially noted for his vivid delineations of the lion's life in the desert A desert is a barren area of landscape where little precipitation occurs and, consequently, living conditions are hostile for plant and animal life.
