Friedrich Wilhelm Grimme
Friedrich Wilhelm Grimme (25 December 1827, Assinghausen – 2 April 1887, Münster) was a German regional (Sauerland) writer and poet. From 1847 he studied philology and theology at the University of Münster, followed by work as a schoolteacher at the gymnasium in Arnsberg. Afterwards he taught classes in Brilon (1854) and at the Paulinum in Münster (1855). From 1856 to 1872 he was a teacher at the Theodorianum in Paderborn, then later relocated to Heiligenstadt as director of the Catholic gymnasium (1872–85). Grimme was one of the 56 founding members of the Freies Deutsches Hochstift (Free German Foundation). The ''Friedrich-Wilhelm-Grimme-Weg'', is an 85 km hiking trail maintained by the Sauerländischer Gebirgsverein (SGV, Sauerland Mountain Association). Freies Deutsches Hochstift
The Freies Deutsches Hochstift (Free German Foundation) is a literary association based in Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany. It is the owner of the Goethe House, the place where the playwright and poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was born and spent his early years, which it operates as a museum. The Hochstift also manages the Deutsches Romantik-Museum, a museum dedicated to German Romanticism which opened in 2021. The Hochstift produces critical editions of literary works such as Goethe's ''Faust'', and holds lectures, exhibitions and concerts. Botany, also called , plant biology or phytology, is the science of plant life and a branch of biology. A botanist, plant scientist or phytologist is a scientist who specialises in this field. Sauerländischer Gebirgsverein
The "Sauerland Mountain Association", (Sauerländischer Gebirgsverein, briefly "SGV") is an association for hiking and Nordic Walking in the Sauerland area in Germany. It was founded in 1891 by forest administrator Ernst Ehmsen and local historian Karl Féaux de Lacroix from Arnsberg (Sauerland) and has about 50,000 members. The Association organises events and is involved in the area of the nature conservation. The association takes care of numerous footpathes and trails, for instance the Rothaarsteig, the Sauerland-Höhenflug (in German) and the Ruhrhöhenweg (in German), and marks them with signs on behalf of the nature preservation authorities of the state Northrhine-Westphalia. The length of the trails is altogether about 34,000 km, 4,300 km of these are classified as long distance trails. Heilbad Heiligenstadt is a spa town in Thuringia, Germany. It is the capital of the Eichsfeld district. Geography Heiligenstadt is approximately 14 km east of the tripoint where the states of Thuringia, Hesse and Lower Saxony meet. It lies on the upper course of the river Leine (a tributary of the Aller) that flows through the town from east to west and is joined near the centre of the town by the Geislede. Olsberg, Germany
Olsberg is a town in the Hochsauerland district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Geography It is situated on the river Ruhr, approx. 15 km east of Meschede. It is bordered by Arnsberg Forest Nature Park, on the northern fringe of the Rothaargebirge. The town's setting is dominated by heavily wooded ridges and valleys formed by the Ruhr and three of its tributaries.
