Frida Katherina Benneche (June 10, 1880 – after 1943), sometimes written as Frida Bennèche or Freda Benneche, also known as Frida Windolph, was an American coloratura soprano. Early life Benneche was born in New York City. Her mother was Magdalena Goelz Benneche. Her German-born father Edward Benneche was a businessman, and was president of the Arion Society, a German-American musical club in New York. She attended Miss Jaudon's School, studied violin and piano as a young woman, trained with Eugenie Pappenheim in New York, and studied voice with Theresa Seehofer in Berlin. Career As Frida Windolph, she sang at musicales hosted by Pappenheim, and made some recordings for Phono-Cut Records early in her career. Frieda Hempel
Frieda Hempel (26 June 1885 – 7 October 1955) was a German lyric coloratura soprano singer in operatic and concert work who had an international career in Europe and the United States. Life Hempel was born in Leipzig and studied first at the Leipzig Conservatory and afterwards at the Stern Conservatory, Berlin, where she was a pupil of Selma Nicklass-Kempner. She later studied singing with Sarah Robinson-Duff and Estelle Liebling in New York City; both of whom had been trained by Mathilde Marchesi. Her earliest appearances were in Breslau, singing Violetta, the Queen of the Night and Rosina. She made a debut in Schwerin in 1905, and was engaged there for the next two years, singing also Gilda, Leonora (''Il trovatore'') and Woglinde. Frieda Dänzer
Frieda Dänzer (16 November 1930 – 21 January 2015) was a Swiss Alpine skier, successful in the second half of the 1950s. At the 1956 Winter Olympics, she won silver in the downhill event. At Bad Gastein in 1958, she became world champion in Alpine Combined and won the silver medal in downhill and bronze in giant slalom. She was born in Adelboden, Canton of Bern. Dänzer developed into one of Switzerland's most successful female skiers in the 1950s. The start of her sporting career, however, was fraught with a number of hurdles. In January 1950, she suffered a compound fracture of her right tibia and fibula in a fall that put her out of action for six months. After her recovery, Dänzer did manage to rejoin the Swiss national team. Frieda Belinfante
Frieda Belinfante (May 10, 1904 in Amsterdam – March 5, 1995 age 91 when she died in Santa Fe, New Mexico) was a Portuguese Sephardic-Dutch cellist, philharmonic conductor, a prominent lesbian and a member of the Dutch resistance during World War II. After the war, Belinfante immigrated to the United States and continued her career in music. She was the founding artistic director and conductor of the Orange County Philharmonic. Genealogy The daughter of Aron Belinfante and Georgine Antoinette Hesse, Frieda descended from a line of Sephardic Jews who arrived in Holland in the 17th century and whose ancestry can be traced back to 16th-century Portugal. Frida Westman (born 10 January 2001) is a Swedish ski jumper who competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics. She was the first Swedish female ski jumper at an Olympic Games. Westman has the best finish by any Swedish female ski jumper at a FIS Ski Jumping World Cup event. Career Westman competes for IF Friska Viljor, and has been coached by Andreas Arén and Isak Grimholm. In 2015, Westman won the Swedish Youth Championship 55 metre hill event. In 2019, she suffered two cruciate ligament injuries. In September 2020, she won two Norway Cup events in Lillehammer. Frida Hyvönen (born Anna Frida Amanda Hyvönen; 30 December 1977) is a Swedish singer-songwriter. Personal life Hyvönen grew up in Robertsfors, located outside Umeå in the north of Sweden (which is also the hometown of her cousin Josephine Forsman's band ''Sahara Hotnights'').
