Alicia Freilich
Alicia Freilich (born 15 March 1939) is a Venezuelan writer, novelist, journalist and educator. Early life Born in Caracas, Alicia Freilich is the eldest of three girls born to Máximo Freilich and Rebeca (née Warszawska) Freilich, immigrants of Polish Jews, Polish-Jewish origin. She grew up in a Jews, Jewish home and attended Central University of Venezuela, Universidad Central de Venezuela, where she received a bachelor's degree in literature in 1960. Professional career Freilich began her journalism career at ''El Nacional (Caracas), El Nacional'' in 1969, working since then on a column about literature and reporting politics, with a focus on children and family issues, among other subjects. Edith Freilich
Edith Freilich née Seamon (September 8, 1911 - May 14, 2011) was an American bridge player, "one of the world's greatest female bridge players". As a player in important tournaments, she was also known as Edith Seligman, Edith Kemp, and Edith Kemp Freilich. Among women, she is second to Helen Sobel Smith for winning the greatest number of North American Bridge Championships. She was from Miami Beach, Florida. Edith Seamon was raised in South Orange, New Jersey. Her brother, Billy Seamon, and sister, Anne Burnstein, also became leading bridge players. Freilich won the top two KO events on the ACBL calendar, the Vanderbilt and Spingold, in 1963. In 1984, her team won the Wagar. Freilich was inducted into the ACBL Hall of Fame in 1997. Eitan Freilich (Hebrew: איתן פרייליך) is a British Orthodox Jewish performer and singer from London, England. He achieved international celebrity status in 2016, when his first album, ''Am Yisrael Chai'' (The People of Israel Live) was released with unprecedented digital and physical sales. Whilst continually performing at Jewish weddings, concerts, and other dinner events, Freilich is well known for his high energy, passion, and soul which he brings to each performance. Since his debut album, Eitan has released several music videos and various singles, most notably the Am Yisrael Chai' music video shot in Israel, 'Lehodos Lecha' released last summer and 'Lo Iyrah - Avidan's Song' released this April 2019 in memory of his son, Avidan. Hadassah Lieberman
Hadassah Lieberman ( Freilich; born March 28, 1948) is the second wife of former United States Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut. Life and work Hadassah Freilich Lieberman was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia (a past report erroneously stated she was born in a refugee camp) to Jewish parents who were both Holocaust survivors. Her father was Samuel Freilich, a lawyer and rabbi from Munkács, in the Carpathian Ruthenia (now Mukachevo in Ukraine). Her mother, Ella (Wieder) Freilich, had survived both Auschwitz and Dachau. Hadassah was named for her maternal grandmother, who was murdered at Auschwitz. Samuel Freilich brought his family to the United States, in 1949, settling in Gardner, Massachusetts, where he was the rabbi of Congregation Ohave Shalom. Michael Freilich (born 1980 in Antwerp) is a Belgian journalist and politician for the Flemish nationalist and conservative New Flemish Alliance party. He was elected to the Belgian Chamber of Representatives in 2019. Biography Michael Freilich was born in Antwerp in 1980, to a British born father and a Belgian mother. He is the grandson of a Holocaust survivor who escaped transportation from Mechelen to Auschwitz. Freilich studied Business Administration and Communication at universities in Israel and the United States before returning to Belgium to begin a career in journalism. Michael H. Freilich (January 14, 1954 – August 5, 2020) was an American oceanographer who served as director of the NASA Earth Science division from 2006–2019. In January 2020, NASA announced that the Sentinel-6A Oceanography mission was being renamed the '' Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich'' in his honor. Freilich played a key role in establishing the international partnership behind this mission. The Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich (S6MF) is a radar altimeter satellite developed in partnership between several European and American organizations. It is part of the Jason satellite series and is named after Michael Freilich. S6MF includes synthetic-aperture radar altimetry techniques to improve ocean topography measurements, in addition to rivers and lakes. Spacecraft The Sentinel-6 program includes two identical satellites, to be launched five years apart, Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, which launched on 21 November 2020, and Sentinel-6B, which will launch in 2025.
