Free Throw (band)
Free Throw is an American emo band from Nashville, Tennessee. They are signed to Triple Crown Records. History Free Throw was formed in April 2012 after the members had graduated high school and had met each other through the Nashville music scene while playing in previous bands. Vocalist Cory Castro described it as "a couple of beers and a couple of ideas". The band has since released four full-length albums, titled ''Those Days Are Gone,'' ''Bear Your Mind'', ''What's Past is Prologue'', and ''Piecing It Together''. They have also released three EPs, titled ''Free Throw'', ''Lavender Town'', and ''Missing Pieces''. After the release of their debut album, the band embarked on a tour opening for Empire! Empire! Snowing is an American emo band from Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. Composed of bassist and vocalist John Galm, guitarists Nate Dionne and Willow Brazuk, and drummer Justin Renninger, the band formed in 2008 and dissolved in 2011. History After the break up of Street Smart Cyclist, Galm, Dionne and Brazuk joined and formed Snowing in 2008 in Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia, while Galm worked as a movie theater projectionist with Square of Opposition Records label manager Chris Regec. The band released their first extended play, ''Fuck Your Emotional Bullshit'', in 2009 via Square Of Opposition Records. ''Bear Your Mind'' is the second studio album by Nashville punk rock band Free Throw. It was released on May 26, 2017, nearly three years after the band's previous album ''Those Days are Gone''. Composition Lyrical content According to Castro, ''Bear Your Mind'' "picks up where the old record left off." The vocalist explained, The album's title is derived from a lyric in the album's seventh track "Andy and I, Uhh...". Discussing the song's lyrics, Casto stated that the song is about of the album his struggles with anxiety and body image. That's where the title comes from. Castro stated "the lyrics flip back and forth between bearing something and mind and being 'bare' in mind", and in his mind it "just fit." Algernon Cadwallader is an American emo and math rock band from Yardley, Pennsylvania. They were originally active from 2005 to 2012. In 2022, the band regrouped and began touring again. ''Stereogum'' referred to the band as the "heroes of the emo revival". History Peter Helmis, Joe Reinhart, and Colin Mahony met in high school and formed the precursor to Algernon Cadwallader, ''Halfway to Holland,'' with their friend TJ DeBlois (drummer of metalcore band ''A Life Once Lost''.) Emo is a rock music genre characterized by emotional, often confessional lyrics.
