Bear Your Mind
''Bear Your Mind'' is the second studio album by Nashville punk rock band Free Throw. It was released on May 26, 2017, nearly three years after the band's previous album ''Those Days are Gone''. Composition Lyrical content According to Castro, ''Bear Your Mind'' "picks up where the old record left off." The vocalist explained, The album's title is derived from a lyric in the album's seventh track "Andy and I, Uhh...". Discussing the song's lyrics, Casto stated that the song is about of the album his struggles with anxiety and body image. That's where the title comes from. Castro stated "the lyrics flip back and forth between bearing something and mind and being 'bare' in mind", and in his mind it "just fit." He continued, "the album is about carrying the weight of personal burdens so I thought Bear Your Mind just made sense. The album art goes along well. Free Throw (band)
Free Throw is an American emo band from Nashville, Tennessee. They are signed to Triple Crown Records. History Free Throw was formed in April 2012 after the members had graduated high school and had met each other through the Nashville music scene while playing in previous bands. Vocalist Cory Castro described it as "a couple of beers and a couple of ideas". The band has since released four full-length albums, titled ''Those Days Are Gone,'' ''Bear Your Mind'', ''What's Past is Prologue'', and ''Piecing It Together''. They have also released three EPs, titled ''Free Throw'', ''Lavender Town'', and ''Missing Pieces''. After the release of their debut album, the band embarked on a tour opening for Empire! Empire! Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Midwest Emo
Midwest emo (or Midwestern emo) refers to the emo scene and/or subgenre that developed in 1990s Midwestern United States. Employing unconventional vocal stylings, distinct guitar riffs and arpeggiated melodies, Midwest emo bands shifted away from the genre's hardcore punk roots and drew on indie rock and math rock approaches. Emo Revival
The emo revival (also known as the post-emo revival, the Midwestern emo revival, and fourth wave emo) was an underground emo movement which came about in the late 2000s to early 2010s. Groups of the emo revival largely abandon the style of the mainstream emo acts of the mid 2000s in favor of a style influenced by 1990s emo acts. The revival had largely dissolved by the mid 2010s.
