Freddy Vachha
Freddy Vachha is a British businessman and a retired academic and politician who was the leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) from June 2020 to (disputed) April 2021. Early life Freddy Vachha was born in Bombay, India, in December 1957. After graduating, with First Class Honours, in Physics and Mathematics, he worked as a school-teacher, lecturer and tutor in mathematics and physics. Between 1980 and 1981, he studied accounting and obtained a Diploma in Accountancy, First Class with Distinction, from the predecessor institution to Guildhall University, London. From 1981 to 1984, he worked at the accounting firm Ernst & Whinney, the predecessor to Ernst & Young, and continued as a consultant there for several years. He then ran his own computer software company Digital Precision Ltd, developing and publishing software for the Sinclair QL and other computers until 1995, and worked as a business consultant. The 2019 UK Independence Party leadership election took place following the departure on 2 June of Gerard Batten from the leadership of the UK Independence Party. The result was announced on 10 August 2019, with Richard Braine being elected to lead the party. This was the party's fifth leadership election in three years. The 2016 London Assembly election was an election held on 5 May 2016 to elect the members of the London Assembly. It took place on the same day as the London mayoral election and the United Kingdom local elections.
