Frederick Thomas Smye (August 6, 1916 – 1985) was a Canadian businessman. He was the president of Avro Aircraft Limited (Canada). Avro Canada was a Canadian aircraft manufacturing company. It was founded in 1945 as an aircraft plant and within 13 years became the third-largest company in Canada, one of the largest 100 companies in the world, and directly employing over 50,000. Frederick Thomas Smye (July 4, 1868 – November 15, 1930) was an Ontario political figure. He represented Hamilton West in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1926 to 1930 as a Conservative member. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario, the son of William Smye, an Irish immigrant, and was educated there. In 1898, he married Maude Givern. He served as Minister Without Portfolio in the provincial cabinet from 1929 to 1930. Trinity College School (TCS) is a co-educational, independent boarding and day school located in Port Hope, Ontario, Canada.
