Franz Patay
Franz Patay (born 1961 in Vienna) is an Austrian arts administrator, the former Rector of the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna and CEO of the theatrical company Vereinigte Bühnen Wien. Biography As the son of a musical family (his father Georg was a viola player in the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra for over 40 years) Franz Patay's interests were encouraged from a young age. After leaving school he began studies in law at the University of Vienna. In January 1986 Franz Patay graduated as a doctor of jurisprudence. At the same time, he studied arts and cultural management at the College of Music and Performing Arts Vienna from October 1994 to February 2017. Franz Patay, who holds a doctorate in law, was Secretary General and executive director of the IMZ – International Music + Media Centre Vienna since October 1994. Alban Berg Foundation
The Alban Berg Foundation (''Alban Berg Stiftung'') is an Austrian organisation dedicated to the legacy of the composer Alban Berg (1885–1935). Founded in 1969 by the composer's widow, it cultivates the memory and works of the composer, and awards scholarships. History After Alban Berg's death in 1935, his widow Helene Berg (1885–1976) looked after his inheritance and estate, including the preservation of manuscripts and important documents, and in later years she made preparations to establish a foundation; in accordance with Berg's wishes, it would receive the proceeds of the composer's works after her death. The International Music Council (IMC) was created in 1949 as UNESCO's advisory body on matters of music. It is based at UNESCO's headquarters in Paris, France, where it functions as an independent international non-governmental organization.
