Franz Gerber
Franz Gerber (born 27 November 1953) is a German former professional footballer. Playing career Gerber was born in Munich. He spent most of his teenage years playing in the youth ranks at Bayern Munich, until finally making the senior squad in 1971–72, aged just 17. He made his debut on 15 April 1972 as a substitute in a 3–1 victory over Hannover 96 during the club's championship winning campaign. Despite this breakthrough, this would be Gerber's sole appearance for the legendary team as he moved onto FC St. Pauli of the (then) second flight Regionalliga North during the summer. Here, he began the first of three different spells at the club, making an immediate impact as the team finished as winners of the division in his first season. Regionalliga North
The Regionalliga Nord ( en, Regional League North) is the fourth tier of the German football league system in the states of Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen and Hamburg. It is one of five leagues at this level, together with the Regionalliga Bayern, Regionalliga Nordost, Regionalliga Südwest and the Regionalliga West. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the third tier. From 1963 to 1974, a Regionalliga Nord existed as the second tier of the German football league system, but it is not related to the current Regionalliga. Reinhold Fanz
Reinhold Fanz (born 16 January 1954) is a German former professional footballer and formerly manager of the Cuba national team. Playing career Fanz was born in Mannheim. He began his playing career at Amicitia Viernheim, before moving onto SV Sandhausen, playing in the third tier. In 1974, he joined VfR Heilbronn in the newly formed 2. Bundesliga South. The team's stay in this new division only lasted a single season though and, upon their relegation in 1975, Fanz left for 2. Bundesliga South club Wuppertaler SV. Here, he spent two seasons challenging for the promotion, but falling short (in fifth and third place, respectively). Although Wuppertaler SV did not make the top flight, Fanz did as he was signed by Fortuna Düsseldorf in 1977. Utz Claassen (born May 7, 1963 in Hannover) is a German manager, management consultant, entrepreneur, investor and author. He has held senior management positions in some of Germany’s most prominent companies such as Volkswagen and EnBW. Education In 1980 Claassen earned his high school diploma ( Abitur) after skipping two grades with a grade point average of 0.7 (close to the highest value possible on the German scale). SG Union Solingen was a German association football club from Solingen, North Rhine-Westphalia. History The side can trace its roots back to an earlier ''Union Solingen'' club founded in 1897 out of the merger of a number of clubs from the district of Ohligs that would over time include ''Ohligs FC 06'', ''VfR Ohligs'', ''Walder Ballspielverein'', and ''BV Adler Ohligs''. Fußball-Club 08 Homburg or simply FC Homburg is a German association football club based in Homburg, Saarland, that competes in the Regionalliga Südwest. Calgary Mustangs (CPSL)
The Calgary Mustangs were a Canadian professional soccer team in Calgary, Alberta that competed in the original Canadian Professional Soccer League in 1983. History After the original five CPSL clubs were announced, Calgary was later announced as the sixth franchise. After being turned down by a couple of local investors, the league was able to convince West German player agent Edgar Edringer to invest in a team and the team was officially unveiled on February 24, 1983. Edringer announced his intention to be heavily involved with the franchise, moving to the city and serving as the team's general manager as well. He was confident that the team would be successful, unlike the former NASL Calgary Boomers who operated for only one season in 1981 before folding due to losses of over $2 million despite setting an NASL attendance record of averageing over 11,000 fans, in part due to his knowledge of the sport. The Oberliga (, "Upper League"; plural: ''Oberligen'') is the fifth tier of the German football league system. Before the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008, it was the fourth tier. At the end of the 2011–12 season the number of Oberligas was increased from eleven to fourteen. With the exception of the Nazi Germany, Nazi-era ''Gauliga'', the term ''Oberliga'' (equivalent to ''Premier League'' in English) was used prior to the Introduction of the Bundesliga, formation of the Bundesliga in 1963 for first-division leagues in Germany.
