Frants Banner
Frants Banner (died 24 July 1575) was a Danish landowner and lensmann. Biography Frants Banner was the son of Marshal of the Realm and prive counsellor Erik Eriksen Banner (c. 1484 – 1554) and Mette Rosenkrantz (død 1533). He is first mentioned in 1546 as lensmann of the provost in Aarhus and was possibly then part of the administration. In 1548, he took part in Princess Anna's wedding procession to Sachsen. He was lensmann of Holbæk from 1550. After his father's death I 1554 he took over his father's fief Kalø instead and finally Børglum kloster in 1557-1574. In the Northern Seven Years' War, he served as a '' ritmester'' of the Jutland Cacalry. He married Anne Johansdatter Oxe /buried 4 May 1581 in Torslev Church), a daughter of Johan Oxe of Nielstrup (died 1534) and Mette Gøye (død ca. 1537). Frants Hvass (29 April 1896 - 21 December 1982) was a Danish diplomat. Early life and education Hvass was born in Copenhagen, the son of barrister Anders Hvass (1858–1916) and Anna Augusta S. E. Hvass née Saxild (1864–1955). He graduated from Henrik Madsen's School in 1914 and completed his law studies (cand.jur.( at the University of Copenhagen in 1921. Career In January 1922, Hvass became a secretary if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He served as minister secretary from 1925 to 1927 and was then appointed as vice consul in Hamburg. In 1930–33, he returned to the job as minister secretary. He then worked at the Danish embassy in London from 1933 to 1936. He then worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 12 years, from 1941 to 1945 as head of the political-legal department and in 1945–48 as director. Frant
Frant is a village and civil parish in the Wealden District of East Sussex, England, on the Kentish border about three miles (5 km) south of Royal Tunbridge Wells. When the iron industry was at its height, much of the village was owned by ironmasters. Smuggling occurred here in the 17th and 18th centuries, and one of the toll road, turnpike roads (now the A267) came through here at that time. Frant church is dedicated to St Alban and there is a church school. St Alban's Frant was a major surveying point for the Anglo-French Survey (1784–1790) calculating the precise distance and relationship between the Paris Observatory and the Royal Greenwich Observatory, undertaken by General William Roy. There are three public houses in the parish: the Abergavenny Arms on the A267 in Frant, the George Inn in the High Street and the Brecknock Arms at Bells Yew Green. Franz Yulievich Levinson-Lessing (russian: Фра́нц Юльевич Левинсо́н-Ле́ссинг), or ''Theodor Levinson-Lessing'' (March 9, 1861 – October 25, 1939 in St. PetersburgTomkeieff S.I. Frants Philip Hopstock (15 November 1746 – 8 October 1824) was a Norwegian priest. Biography He was born in Kongsberg as a son of forester Andreas Christian Hopstock (1695-1751) and his wife Maren, née Hofmann Krogh. Both of his parents died when he was still young. He was raised by Frederik Arentz (1702-1779) who was bishop of the Diocese of Bjørgvin. He graduated at Bergen Cathedral School in 1764 and began studying at the University of Copenhagen enrolling as a student in 1764 and graduated with the cand.theol. degree in 1772. He was a vicar in Skovger and Vaale before becoming dean in Vaale in 1790. In 1797 he became inspector at the newly established teacher's seminary in Tønsberg. Frants Philip Hopstock was also a personal acquaintance of Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark and Norway, who visited him at Vaale in 1798. Frants Berg (1504 – 2 November 1591) was a Danish clergyman who served as the Bishop of Oslo. He was born in Odense, Denmark. He was the son Claus Berg (ca. 1470 – ca. 1532) and his wife Margrethe de Groth. His father was a German born sculptor and painter who was engaged by John, King of Denmark and whose decorative work appeared in Danish churches. Queen Christina of Saxony (1461–1521), consort of King John, was his godmother. Queen Christine paid for his education, first at Odense University and later at the University of Rostock. In 1531, he was rector in Odense, in 1540 he was vicar at Ribe Cathedral and in 1546 of St. Nicholas' Church in Copenhagen. The Protestant Reformation in Denmark and Norway was introduced in 1537 when King Christian III of Denmark declared Lutheranism as the official religion. Frants Peter Diderik Henningsen (22 June 1850, Copenhagen – 20 March 1908, Copenhagen) was a Danish painter, illustrator and professor. His paintings depict unfortunate occurrences in the lives of middle-class people living in Copenhagen during difficult times. His connections with Denmark's more traditional, realist school encouraged criticism from many of his more reactionary contemporaries, especially Karl Madsen who objected to his appointment as a professor at the Academy in 1887. Erik Henningsen, also an artist, was his younger brother.
